Keep up the intensity for 4 quarters in each of these games, guys! It is human nature to relax on D when our offense seems to be able to score almost at will, but we are on the verge of something that is historic. Nothing would make me feel better than to see all the talking heads eat crow and say “we knew their offense was great, but boy did we underestimate their defense!”.

I am just not worried about the defense.

When they have to get a stop, they do. As far as the past 2 weeks go? Ole Miss was a 31-7 game at half. Arkansas was 56-6.

When we needed a stop against UF, we got it. When we needed to hold Auburn, we did it. At the end of the half against Bama, D stepped up big. Same against texas.

The defense is fine.

It is? Well Clemson defense don't seem to relax lately. Ravens defense don't seem to relax lately. Those teams score alot and stop offenses. Does Aranda even still want the LSU job. Maybe LSU paying him too much. Would make u hungry to get a higher pay if u not paid as much as he is getting pay a year.

We so play some fairly pedestrian offenses the next couple weeks.

I could see our D starting to get some props, while our offense simply destroys opposing defenses.

Not so sure it is 4 full quarters against A&M. But I believe it will be balls-to-the-wall from Georgia on.

The bottom line is that we will outscore any team they put in front of us. Defense or no defense

our defense steps up pretty well when they need to. That's good enough. We don't have to have an elite defense.

I am waiting for Aranda to recover from mental injury.

Do you Aranda apologists ever get tired of making excuses for this over paid "defensive genius?" A&M will total 450-500 yds, book it. The offense just has to keep scoring. This shitty defense and DC can't stop ANYONE!!

It's impossible to Up-vote and Down-vote at the same time but I tried. Defense is not fine, it needs some work but the other stuff is true.

Man, if this defense doesn't get super focused and extremely pissed about how the national media/cfp committee is portraying/disrespecting them by saying they're personally the sole reason the committee dropped us down, then shite, idk if there's anything thats gonna get them to wake the frick up. They should take it personally...I mean, damn, it is personal when they say their reasoning for sliding us to no 2 behind Ohio State is simply bc of how our defense has played for the most part this season. Aranda needs to wake the frick up and take it personally, bc they're saying he isn't doing his job well enough even with this juggernaut offense we have. I know I would be ready to fricking terrorize some shite the next time I got onnthe field after being called out/disrespected like that. We have the fricking talent, now let's go execute and play some damn LSU defense for an entire game, every game the rest of this season like theyre capable of doing ffs. We are frickin LSU, now let's go play up to the standard dammit.Thats bullshite and we have way too much talent on this team for them to be underperforming and having people notice and drop us down bc of that side of the ball.

This sounds stupid, but I think our defense loses focus in the second half of games because we usually have such a big lead. Texas, Bama, Vandy, Ole Miss, Arky games all played out that way. We absolutely have the talent to be good enough defensively to win the natty.

Oh for sure we have the talent to have a natty caliber defense. No question about that at all. That's the reason people are so pissed about it right now and have been at times this entire season, bc they know the talent that aranda has on that side of the ball and it doesn't make any damn sense to perform as badly as we have at times. If it was simply bc we dont have the talent and the potential wasn't there, I wouldnt give a shite and expect any better from them and I would just accept it for what it is...that we just aren't good on defense and have no room to improve or play better...but that isn't the case and I've seen this defense buckle down and actually play LSU Tiger defense at times this season and I know the potential is there and there's just a little something missing. Idk what it is but they need to get their shite together now and play their best ball the rest of the season. Now is the time to go get it and turn it on like I know they can. If we play LSU defense like it should be played, we will win the national championship without question. They have to do it right now and I have faith in them that this is going to be that motivation and extra fuel they need to perform like they know they can in these last 4 games and bring the title back to LSU in Nola. Enough is enough, it's time to go get this fricking title and go take what's ours. This is our fricking year and we are going to go get that natty. Geaux Tigers.

This. You can’t point to a single point in any game this year where the defense actually put us in a position where we had a chance to lose. That’s basically always the actual goal here.

Uh, no we didn’t. They scored a TD on their last possession.

LSU defense has declined consistently over the last four years under Aranda.

LSU NCAA Total Defense Ranking
2016: 10th
2017: 12th
