1. Clemson's defense - best defense that you will face
according to NCAA stats
Total D #2 (OSU #1 - so you haven't played them)
Scoring D #1
Passing Efficency D #1
TFL #8 (no one above that has play y'all this year)
Now let me anticipate your objection and give you the competition adjusted stats from adjustedstats.com
Yards per Game D #1
Yards per Play D #1
Yards per possession D #1
Point per Game D #2 (GA. is #1 but only because
they stopped their inputs on 12/7 - the NCAA
stats go through 1/3/20)
I know that you would like to think that GA, FL, & Auburn were better than us on D, but there is no empirical evidence for your position. We are better on D - incredible, but true.
Slow motion - Those must have been optical illusions when TL and ETN ran by their entire defenses for TDs.
Blitz - I promise you we will - when and where Joe least expects it. Joe is very good at picking up blitzes but he hasn't seen us yet. Will he complete some - sure. But will he string enough together to score TDs - that remains to be seen.
"You have a good QB, a good RB, and one good receiver"
Now this is where you lose YOUR credibility. Any objective observer would grant that we have an elite QB, an elite RB, and two elite WRs. So you are obviously starting to let your emotions get the better of you here.

I understand that you think Joe is the best and, at least here, you have plenty of empirical evidence. I won't even think to argue that he is not having a fantastic year, but here's the thing. QBs are judged based on winning the ultimate game - the championship. My boy has won one (as a freshman) and in a few days he will win his second. Can we agree that the QB who leads his team to the ultimate victory is the best ? If y'all win, I will concede that - will you if the roles are reversed ?
And finally, your come-to-jesus defense. On paper, y'all have some real studs, but our defense, as a whole, is better on the field and the stats back that up.
The whole premise of our optimism at Clemson boils down to this. Both teams have averaged about 45 - 49 points per game. We think our defense will slow your offense down more than your defense will slow our offense down. And unless there are major injuries or turnovers that will decide the game.
Y'all have had a great year. You should back your team to the hilt and enjoy every minute of it. I would never consider you arrogant for doing so. If it is arrogant of me to do so (especially with the defending champs) then I can live with that.
I hope y'all have a good and injury free game. C ya on the 13th.

clempson defense participated but OSU gave away the game.
look at the yardage your defense gave to OSU.
look at the misques OSU offense produced in the 1st half alone.
going to be a great game and a great win for LSU.

Actually, your moderators were holding up my comments because I was trying to respond to a lot of you.
I have watched y'all against Bama, Auburn, Florida, & Georgia. That is actually where my confidence comes from.
It you just look at your stats, or the OK game, y'all seem invincible. But when you watch the games, you can see plenty of reason for optimism.
I will be putting my money down late because i think that with all the LSU fans emotionally running to bet on their team, that I will get another point or two before gametime. I certainly am not gonna bet with some anonymous clown over the internet.
Finally, since you have not put forth any LSU facts, I am not able to address any here. But if you want to look around this thread, I am making any number of counterarguments with anyone putting forth some rational position.

Yeah, they gashed our D early with those two big runs

How many are yards after the catch. I'm not saying those yards don't count, but y'all will throw the short pass every time if the d-backs give you any cushion. Just look at the film.
And I am not saying that Joe can't throw the deep ball, because he can. But the defense HAS to stop the low-risk short pass first.

The difference there is that Clemson has faced one top 25 D. LSU has faced 3.
Is Clemson better than those other three? Sure, why not. But based on LSU’s experience in big games THIS season (multiple top 10 wins vs. 1–and it took a good amount of luck for you to do it), LSU is destined for this. Joe Burrow is destined for this. They are battle tested and they’ve only gotten better, and that has nothing to do with what happened last year or 3 years ago.
Dabo himself said after the UNC game that while Clemson has experience as an elite team, this year’s team does not.
Top to bottom I believe LSU is a little better than Clemson, and Burrow will hit more big plays against your secondary than Clemson will against ours.
