Ah, yes, 2007 when LSU won a national title despite losing in completely dominant fashion to two un-ranked BCS opponents. Complete domination wire to wire that season.
"Dominant" sonnyboy? I don't call losing in 2 OT being "dominated" in any way shape or form.

If you can't get up for and have fun at a Tiger game, you need to move somewhere where there is no football. You and all of your ilk are lower than whale shite. Period. Nothing will ever satisfy any of you. If LSU went undefeated and won the NC all of you would find SOME reason to bitch like old women. Jesus I pity your families. It must really be terrible to live with malcontents like you lowlife sacks of shite.

Interesting you post this because I have felt the same way this year. I had a chance to buy Georgia tickets but didn't do it because I didn't want to go to the game, spend close to $200 and get aggravated. No, it's no longer fun.

I was not directing this totally towards you...I read the whole thread and saw that you said you don't go to the games...I am mostly disgruntled with the fans I have to hear at the actual games...booing, complaining, and most of them do not even truly understand the game of football. They just think that this isn't as exciting as it should be. Or they read something online and think that because of what a kid did in highschool, they know that he should be playing ahead of someone else.
I love this point you made. It is a great point, and you are totally right. In my belief, however, the way that our fans have been showing there disappointment is counter productive. Booing college guys on a field doesn't change what a coach is doing. Neither does calling for another player. Nor does talking about it on a fan website. I just feel these are counterproductive. It hurts things more than it helps. I don't know the best way to go about it, but I don't think this is it. I, for one, am not dissappointed with this season at all.
All in all, I think, considering everything, this team has improved every game this year, with the exception of last week. I can't ask more than that. And we have lost only 2 games to the two top teams in the country...I know there is a counter argument to that...who have we beat? Its not our fault the SEC is beating up on each other this year. If we finish 10-2 or even 9-3 (slightly more dissappointing bc we should win the last two) I will be happy with this year. If not, well then I may look into trying to show my dissapprovement for what our staff is doing.
But the games are still fun for me outside of what my previous points are. But I know no way of changing the fans. So I learn to live with it and enjoy the games
I think winning is winning...awful, beautiful, regular haha. Of course I would rather us destroy teams everytime out. But I am satisfied with a win. As far as losing awful...we haven't this year. Our offense was awful against Florida but do give SOME credit to the number one defense in the country for that. As far as the Alabama game, I think we had a great game plan and were executing it well until some untimely injuries. It was a great and FUN game none-the-less. I was there.
Have we gotten to the point where we expect SEC West Champs every 3 years? Because we won it 3 years ago. I think that last year was rough...but we addressed our issues and this team is much better for it. Of course I want to win the west every year too, but being competitive for it is still very fun. :)
I really hope you weren't a saints fan before the last few years
I liked the last bit you said the best in there. We are evaluating whether it is fun. I say it is. I gave my arguments for why...what say you?
I like this conversation a lot by the way and appreciate your opinions as well. I also like that we are able to go about this discussion rationally...its why i like this place sometimes
Couldn't have a convo like this on gameday for sure haha

And fans are sick of looking at a poor product put on the field week in and week out, after having 4 top 10 recruiting classes in a row and paying coaches millions of dollars and having world class facilities. So it goes both ways.

I just started NOT enjoying it recently, therefore I am wrestling with my emotions and decisions about watching it in the FUTURE, if they continue down this sorry path. You don't stop loving something and stop watching something you've been loving and watching for 30 years, it's a PROCESS of realization and change, and wondering whether or not you should feel that way.

try to give the staff the benefit of the doubt, that they have to bring players along, but when you see what other teams are able to do - it sucks.
+1
Miles is able to do enough to win games and keep his job, but he is not exceptional and does not get the most out of his talent. And this makes LSU football less fun. I still love it, but the past 2 seasons, except for a few games, have not been enjoyable honestly.

Personally I blame ESPN for giving us round-the-clock sports and having to fill the time with "interest stories" that usually end up pissing off one fanbase or another.
I also blame the internet and chat boards (like this one) for allowing opposing fans and anyone with an internet connection to run their mouth and cause animosity and unrest. Also, the only time upset fans could vocalize their anger was on call-in shows....and we know that they would just get screened out. Oh, add talk radio sports shows in there....but mainly cause I hate Richard Condon.
Finally, I totally blame the ignorance of the common man, bandwagon fans, sidewalk alumni, Hitler, the second shooter on the grassy knoll, and the inability to detect sarcasm.
Thank you.

The last 2 years of "LSU Fans" on the rant have sucked the oxygen out of the room. LSU football is no longer fun.
Fixed it.
This board used to be fun until people like you put a strangle hold on it.
LSU football is still as exciting and fun as ever. At least to most rational fans that are actually knowledgable about the game. Yes, I would like to see us scoring more, but still as fun as ever.
I just wish fans remembered what it means to actually SUPPORT a team!
I am not saying to turn a blind eye to the problems, but it is never excusable to boo our own players.

i don't find lsu football fun anymore...i turn the games off early, i can't stand the lack of coaching and developing of talent...i can't stand miles and i am just waiting for us to get a coach with brains and fire...

To answer your question my family has been loyal tiger fans since the early 1900's and LSU football will and has been fun for as long as I can remember. But I'm not a pessimist like most of the people on this board.

-La Tech...doesn't need an explanation. Probably the worst showing in Tiger Stadium by an LSU team since the Curley Hallman years. A complete clusterfrick and a stain on the Les Miles tenure.
dude, seriously?
Do you remember UAB? Oh, that's right...that was Saban and he never made mistakes or lost games...my bad.

I agree. Didnt watch the La Tech and most likly wont bother the last two.

That's funny...Miles' doesn't have fire?
Didn't hear this when he went for it on 4th down 5 times in one game! When he went for it, people said he was too reckless and cocky. Now he punts and y'all say he has no fire.
You people need to realize.....never mind...you morons won't ever realize anything because your head is too for up your colon while at the same time kissing Saban's taint!
Now, that's talented!

Different expectations and the program was not where it is now.
I like to think the recent struggles are solely attributable to the bad decision to hire Malveto and to the obvious QB issues. No coach will do well without a solid QB, and every program (Florida in 2007, USC this year) has down years due to one thing or another. But if LSU finishes 8-4 this year and doesnt seriously make a NC run next year, then I think Miles will have to go.

The truth hurts doesn't it sonnyboy. Your lack of any real response shows the world you and your ilk have NOTHING to stand on, other than your UNinformed opinions.

I don't care what the expectations were, we were still expected to beat them and didn't.
For moron in atl to say that the tech game was the worst since hallman or whatever shows that he has no real perspective or wasn't even a "fan" watching the games then

Let's get real here. The constant bitching at having a 2 loss season is what is making LSU football not fun anymore.
That's the bottom line.
