There's a difference between and audible and a "hot route" in my (leather helmeted) experience.
If the QB senses a blitz pre snap he can audible into lots of things, but the hot route I am accustomed to is a read immediately at the snap, particularly on the strong side LB.
If he comes the TE slants to the area he vacates on the blitz.
Same can be done with RB on weakside.
Not an audible,
It is automatic on pass plays.
Does LSU use something different as a "hot route"?

Those are option routes. Those are up to the receivers and TEs. Hot routes are made by the QB.

We had multiple problems with our passing offense.

1. TE position not a strength in the passing game.

2. O/L was not as good as it should have been.

3. No big possession W/R to go to in the clutch.

4. Deep ball missed often.

5. Did not utilize RB screens.

Recruiting will help with #1 and maybe #2.
Mett needs to connect on deep balls when teams
give us the shot. Cam will improve the offense--
how much remains to be seen.
