I'm sorry but I have to disagree on going to the Station to go out. You do not want to go there. Try Chimes for food and drinks, Ivars, the Bulldog, and after 1AM Uncle Earls. If you went out in T-town you probably went to Innisfree (those guys will be at Walk On's near campus).

There are a bunch of hotels on Constitution you should check out.

Cabs are like Gold in this town. They don't stop. I'd figure out if your hotel has a shuttle bec that is your best bet.

Try Hotel Indigo downtown. take the shuttle from Pastime to the stadium and avoid parking.

East sideline. This would be better. You will be able to see the student section antics and the LSU sideline much better, whereas from the West it will all be hidden. Too bad you will spend so much and be way up there, as the stadium experience is really special in the bottom bowl. I'd suggest that you guys reconsider and try to get in one of the end zones.

No Sun at night. This is supposed to be the big CBS prime time game. BTW, November nights can be quite cold in TS upper decks with the wind and all.

Point taken. We can hold our own, but moderation will be key. By no means are we out for any competition! We've done a handful of trips and learned some lessons.

We want to let loose and enjoy some drinking, but the overall atmosphere and experience is more important so if all works out we shouldn't be too over board. We'll cut our teeth in New Orleans Thur night and then come enjoy Baton Rouge Thur - Sun.

One of the reasons we chose this game is for the night game. As part of the deal with the game in Tuscaloosa being changed to a night game last year was that this game was guaranteed a night spot. That peaked our interest right away.

I have tickets around the 40 in both uppers row 15 on the east and row U on the west...row 15 is decent and row 20 is a little high, but manageable....good thing is, you can see every play of the night from there, which is important because we don't really have a much of a jumbotron for replays...It shouldn't be cold in early November, but I would recommend the west side since the sun will be to your back....

Key info - thanks!

I get that. We'll be pulling for LSU. Plain and simple. We have no skin in the game as far as loyalty/true fan. We will be decked out in LSU gear and you won't be able to tell us from any other LSU fan. And, we'll be there to join in and make some noise.

Great info. We might just have to bite the bullet and spend a little more.

What section(s) are the students in? [link=(Here is map.)]https://www.stubhub.com/lsu-football-tickets/lsu-vs-alabama-11-3-2012-4008850/[/link]

I wouldn't do that. You will get more offers to join tailgates if you wear Bama gear or some other gear. You'll take some ribbing, but well worth it to get free beer and awesome food.

Ha ha - good stuff. We still have our Bama gear from last year.

Thinking back, the LSU fans got some ribbing, but they all got food/beer along the way. One thing we didn't get was a bunch of Bama fans calling you guys corn dogs. There wasn't a good explanation by anybody.

This issue has been positively exasperating for most LSU fans.
Several years ago, an Auburn poster on a message board COPIED AND PASTED the "corndog" reference directly from the message boards of Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas fans who use that term specifically against each other, and somehow thought it would be cute to associate the term with LSU - even though it makes less than no sense.

It has nothing, zero, the null set, 0, """"N O T H I N G"""" to do with LSU, LSU fans, LSU tailgating, etc.
Why the hell would we serve corndogs at the best tailgating venues in all of sports ?- when we have Crabmeat Au Gratin, Shrimp Creole, Blackened Redfish topped with Lump Crabmeat or Crawfish Etouffe', BBQ Cajun Brisket, Creole Bread Pudding & Rum Sauce, Shrimp Remoulade, Seafood Gumbo and Jambalaya, Cochon de lait (creole roast pork loin)Cajun Tilapia, Fried Gulf Jumbo Shrimp and Catfish, Grilled Oysters, etc.

You would think Alabama fans - Auburn's hated rival -would not continue using one of their rivals' plagiarized 'jokes', but if some of them persist, I'll be more than happy to continue to call them......
Alashama Mulligumpnecks.

"Shama" - because they are a SHAM. They have a coach who lobbied and begged to get into the BCSNCG IN THE PRESSBOX of the SECCG on national TV. Why not Gundy, why him ONLY ???

"Mulligump" - because the faux NC was a "mulligan." Thanks to a SMALL FACTION of BCS human poll voters and coaches who ACTUALLY VOTED OKLAHOMA STATE "FIFTH" OR "SIXTH", Alabama was allowed to play in the NCG game............as the second place finisher in "one" of their divisions in their conference.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma State had a MUCH STRONGER strength of schedule, and WON THEIR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP by destroying former #1 Oklahoma.

We can't figure it out either. But apparently, its hilarious to them and the best insults they have. The "corndog" name-calling actually started because the Nebraska Cornhusker fans were called that. Somehow, we started getting called that because they say that's how our campus smells.

I've never really noticed the smell on gamedays, but I guess if you're not used to the smell of a real tailgating campus, you'd be confused too. The combination of all the fried food/boudin/and sausage being grilled probably mixes to create a corndog-esque smell in some areas. However, they're all still dumbasses.
