A few early morning thoughts from last night that factor heavily into next week.

One play that describes the game in a nutshell, Leavitt hits Green in stride for a big catch and run. In that moment we are unstoppable, then the hit happens and you realize he ain’t getting up and the momentum seems to drain. Who will step into his role?
Spears injury is just as big, his replacements struggled mightily.
Lastly Bakers scheme still makes no sense, he can’t be down 3 scores before he makes adjustments. I’m not confident that next week will be any better from him.

It's likely that Green is out for a significant period of time, if not the rest of the season. What do we know about Spears? How serious is his injury?

This is the most puzzling part for me. In the 1st half they brought no pressure and got picked apart. 2nd half they played more aggressive and brought more pressure and looked good......until the last drive. In that drive he goes back to the soft defesne of the 1st half. I just dont understand why you go back to a defense that clearly had no success in the 1st half.
This defesne has athletes and playmakers. Let them do that. They can't do that when they are playing zones and our corners are playing 10 yards of the receivers on 3rd and 5's

If baker is a good DC, and you cut him some slack, it has to be that we don't have the depth we need to keep being aggressive all game. There might be truth to that, but still, as the last poster noted, we went super soft before the half and at the end of the game and allowed chambliss to easily move down the field and score.
i noticed that when Ole Miss got to our 30 our defense went super soft. you just can't do that, we should've have been sending 5.
i would rather lose with pressure than just give it to the other team.
