A creative play call on 4th Down iced the game for Ole Miss last year

Now this year with third and two from the three yard line I was convinced that we were going to see something tricky. Instead we run into a stacked line and lose a yard.....I mean, that's Les Miles latter years all over again. Go to the well one too many times, get stuffed, settle for fg. I've seen that song and dance before.
Watching in my living room, I was excited to see the same formation because I was convinced it was a setup from before. They would crash Dilin and then he would stop, plant and toss out to Clark for an easy TD. That's what Ole Miss Lane kiffin would have done last year. But this year we get nothing. It was like they were coaching scared because they were the favorite. As the underdog kiffin used to put it all on the line.

I hear you, but we have elite playcallers at head coach and OC. I'm not gonna act like I or anyone on this board is equipped to judge their decisions.

Been pretty surprised by the lack of creativity on offense tbh.
I'm thinking weiss and kiffin might feel pretty limited regarding what they can call right now with sam and the o-line not playing great ball.

Lane specifically said that he was playing with 2 downs. 3rd down was to set up 4th down but we didn't anticipate losing a yard there. Even if we just got back to the LOS we would have gone for it.

Why didn’t we just like Jones up under center and push forward then?

Jesus. Ole Miss made the play, tip the cap. Every offense is going to have plays they want back. In that moment you will trying to get the ball closer because you were setting it up to go for it on 4th down. It didn't work. You live with it.

I think this was the call but the left tackle got pushed back 10 feet and ruined the play. He was wide open too and would have walked in. So blame the OLine, not the play call.

I agree that LSU should have run the ball more to open up the pass game - especially in Q1 and 2
