A Closing Thought on LSU/BAMA '09

I agree that the officiating in the game reeked. There were some major blown calls. No need to recap. We've all seen the pics and videos.
One suggestion for Tiger Nation: let's move on and cut out the victimhood. We're starting to sound like whiners from Ole Miss. And guys, we're better than that. We're a top-caliber team that shouldn't have to depend on favorable ref calls to win.

1) we are a top caliber team. If the only teams you lose to are top caliber teams it might be because you a top caliber team.
2) top caliber teams need help from the refs to win all the time. See Florida and Alabama. Even then you still can't take away turnovers and expect the outcome of a game to be the same.

For the short term, you're certainly right.
However, aren't you about tired of having your team screwed by blatant good ol boy Alabama redneck homerism? One of my favorite movies is a 60s western starring John Wayne and Dean Martin called "Sons of Katie Elder," and in one scene, Deano "raffles off" his glass eye -- he pretends to pluck it out and then holds a raffle, rakes in money from the idiot cowboys in the bar, and then he buys the glass eye back from the guy who bought ... all the while making a handsome profit so he can buy drinks for himself and his brother. Dean Martin is Alabama and they're laughing at the rest of the conference schools for being so STUPID to let the SEC office exist in freakin' BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA. Naw, there's no bias! Naw, a healthy percentage of the refs aren't Bama fans from AL! Look what I have in my hand over here ... pay no attention to these droids ... these aren't the droids you're looking for. So we let these hayseeds control the damn SEC office and we're surprised when we get hosed EVERY time we play a game in that state, and we say, take the high road, don't bitch and moan, etc. Hey Bama has a great team and could've won fair and square, but they didn't. I have no problem saying they have a better team than LSU this yr. I just don't like getting screwed w/o at least a little smooch on the cheek.
So anyway, SEC OFFICE OUT OF ALABAMA. Spread the word.
