Let's see if I can wrap this up neatly and put a bow on it.

Bama was most likely the second best team in the country last year at the end of the regular season.

Their schedule was weak.

Bama is THE biggest media darling right now and has been for the last few year and will continue to be for a long time.

They definitely did not deserve the mulligan, but they got it and beat our arse down with it.

As an LSU fan, I have accepted that we will be on the wrong end of more questionable calls, bad decisions, and media bias when compared to Bama and especially when we play Bama.

I remember the sick feeling I had when PP7 intercepted that ball and after video replay they still didn't rule it a pick. That was the beginning of the Bama era and the SEC/AP influence.

It sucks, but it must be dealt with. If we dominate, nothing else matters. Perhaps if we brought a QB to Ttown in November and spanked them the way they spanked us in January they are probably not granted a mulligan

I don't think so. OSU beat more ranked teams, and won their conference after skull-dragging OU, who I believe was a former #1 ranked team. Bama didn't even win their division. Any yet some voters voted OSU as low as 5th in the final poll? Yep, razor close.

Dude, I was talking about the BCS ranking that put Bama in the championship over OSU.. It was razor close.. Sorry it didn't work out for you.. And I never said the system was fine, don't know where you got that..

THIS is why we need to get rid of preseason rankings...a threat to their perceived hegemony.

Wait a minute, you're smart enought to use a word like "hegemony" but too stupid to see how ridiculous your first statement is?

Let me ask you, how would that work, exactly, "get[ing] rid of preseason rankings"?

Do we pass a law censoring the press against publishing their opinions on what the best teams are in the upcoming college football season?

Do people really forget that "preseason rankings" are just opinion polls - that is, questionaires filled out by pundits in the field of interest?

How do we silence them, exactly?

The last thing ESPN or any other TV network ever wants is another 2 SEC teams in the NC again - TV ratings were terrible...

So was I, as evidenced by my referring to OSU's last regular-season game curb stomping of OU. At the end of the regular season OSU had a better resume' than Bama.

LSU and Bama were 1-1 last year vs. each other. The team that played Bama in the NC game was not the same team that beat BAMA at their place. Something happened I do not care what anyone says. I just hope the problems have been resolved and payback is coming.

Why can't you people get over this game...Alabama was the team that the formula picked. You can't blame the formula for LSU playing like it was coached and prepared by a man who was in a coma for 1 year and came out of it "off."

Nah, I didn't say anything about regular season.. It doesn't matter..

No, you didn't at first. I did, and you replied. It went downhill from there.

quote:

You don't believe Bama should have been there, and I'm sure some will agree..

If there was a CFB "Final Four", I believe Bama should have been a 3 or 4 seed. With what we had last year, under a system where "Every Game Counts", no, Bama was clearly granted a Mulligan over a team that accomplished more. Period. As a fan of CFB, the entitlement/media darlings really take a lot of the fun out of the process. Again, either OSU or Bama skull fricks LSU on 1/9/12. So don't take my opinion as "Bama Butthurt". It's butthurt that includes a group of teams, and Bama is in that group.

quote:

But you distorted both teams (Bama and OSU) records to try and prove your point.. That's just sloppy

Again. We went through this. I misspoke on one aspect, and even so, it still didn't make Bama's resume look better when you pointed out the minor error. Reality: Bama beat four teams with a winning record in 2011. That's it. Bama had the weakest resume in the history of the BCSNCG. The "distortion" you speak of took place after the SECCG through that weekend by the media.

quote:

Both teams had arguments to be in the game..

And one team had the backing of a media that gave their coach free air time while NOT showing the true resumes of the teams until AFTER they got their way. That's the problem I have with CFB as a fan. It is not about accomplishment but entitlement.

quote:

Yes,we will hear a lot about USC this year, they are a traditional power with a lot of talent and a polarizing coach. Why shouldn't we? The system will play out like it always does, for better or worse, and 1 will play 2..

And thanks to 2011, all USC has to do is finish third in the Pac 12 to play in Miami. As a CFB, that should concern you, but since you are a fan of one of the Tier 1 Media Darlings, it won't.

Like I said yesterday, you won your Mulligan and will no doubt get the benefit of the doubt in the future. Again. More power to you.

I, among thousands of other LSU fans recognize this and embrace. Here's to having to beat you guys twice a year now.

I honestly don't see us doing it anytime soon.

No. Payback is not coming. In fact, it may never come.

Very rarely will LSU be good enough to beat Bama twice in a season. Sorry. That's reality.

last 5 years lsu 3 bama 3
last 30 lsu 15 bama 15 -1 tie
last 10 -20 lsu has advantage over bama/
last 5 years nc lsu 1 bama 2
last 10 years miles nc 1 saban 3
Not a big saban fan, but without him would lsu still a average fb team. the cox ath center that was saban, that put lsu over the top. Just hate lsu best coach in now at bama.

'The BCSNCG is the game that Bama should have never been invited to. Bama didn't win the SEC west or play in the conference championship game... it makes the SEC championship game pointless.'

you got beat so bad in the NC game they should take away the SEC title from you as well, award it Bama after the fact. But i agree, your SEC title last year was meaningless.

werent you guys super excited before the game at the chance to go up 3-1 in the series since saban arrived? thats what i was reading here anyway. all the complaining started when we beat the everliving crap out of you, humiliated you in front of the entire country, and showed that the Nov 5th game was indeed a fluke, given to you on a bad interception call.

I agree with this. We should give Bama something else they didn't win. After all, you are entitled to it.
