You had Coogan, Thompson, Painich...out of the pen you had guys like Shipp, Daugherty, Demouy, Berthelot, Guillory.

The position players off the bench were pretty solid also.

'13 is a salty squad, but I give the easy nod to '97 until much further review.

some NCAA statistics for both seasons to try to compare the environments.

the 35th ranked team in 1997 by batting average hit .330. This yr, Kansas St leads nation at .333.

The leader in ERA in 1997 was Ark St at 3.14. Miami at #3 had a 3.92 ERA. Best SEC ERA was Auburn at 4.30.

Right now, Arkansas leads nation in ERA. 1.72.

In 1997, BAma led nation with a .621 SLG pct. Right now, Delaware leads with a .486 SLG.
