The few I know are pretty happy with the Fiesta win, because they know they had little chance in the NCG.

Better yet, swap them. Bama loses to Iowa St. OK State loses to LSU at home. Who would you send? I guaran-fricking-tee no one would have a rematch between OK State and LSU.

OSU wins that every time. You can't argue that. If you try, you make yourself look like a moron that doesn't care for rankings and only cares about the name of the program.
Haha no they dont. They lost to a 6-7 team, while Bamas only loss came to a team that went undefeated and ran the table. I get that you look at the W's and all that, but a loss to a 6-7 program down the final stretch of the season weighs way more than who you beat.
11-1 with a loss to a 6-7 team or an 11-1 team with a loss to a 12-0 team... tough call right there.

Why not? Show me how the system is set up to prevent rematches and I will agree with you.
If UF beats LSU in the regular season and LSU beats UF for the SECCG, will you claim the regular season is meaningless?

9 months later...how ridiculous was the BCS NC selection?

Every piece of quantifiable evidence suggested that OSU was more deserving. You have nothing but your opinion and hindsight on your side.
Haha no it doesnt. They LOST TO IOWA ST. How can you put a team in the natl champ that lost to Iowa St at home? While Bama only loss was to LSU. Thats all the logic I need.
And I do agree that we won when it counted. It opened the door for every other team in the country to get their shite together and if they win out, they would be playing us in the NCG. But what happened? Everyone else dropped the ball and didnt win when it mattered to them. Okie St lost to freaking Iowa St. Cant put them in.
So Alabama "dropping the ball" and "not winning when it mattered to them" on Nov. 5 like.......
doesn't count?
Does Oklahoma State's loss to Iowa State TRUMP
their demolition of Oklahoma, their Big 12 CONFERNECE Championship, their much stronger SOS, or, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the fact that Oklahoma State was voted the FIFTH OR SIXTH best team by some UNQUALIFIED BCS Human Poll Voters and BIASED coaches - who, in fact, by their INSANELY SELFISH ACT - kept Oklahoma State OUT of the BCSCG.
And, as has been mentioned, yes - Alabama may have been the second best team, but they were NOT more deserving than Oklahoma State.

Gump Logic = you can only prove how good you are by the teams you lose to. Wins don't count for shite.

Once again ignoring the wins just so you can play prettiest loss. Pathetic.

Really interesting thread. I think you have to look at things as the were before the game was played. IMO, 'bama had no right to that game, and OSU should have been in there. I don't care what the pundits think - you should win your conference to have a right to the NC game.
Look, 'bama fans shouldn't be bragging. They split with us and we have the SEC Championship banner after running a much more difficult schedule.

Haha yeaaaa...So the B12 is a tougher conference than the SEC? Is that what were getting at? 11-1 in the B12 is more impressive than 11-1 in the SEC?

Since the NCG isn't an officially NCAA recognized championship, it's kind of silly anyway. Kind of surprised so many of our fans totally ignore the SEC championship last year.

Winning the Big 12 is more impressive than not winning the SEC, yes.

So youd rather an SEC championship over a National championship?

Looks like you are doing a while lot of rationalizing.
When the SEC championship game was added, you had the same kind of bullshite from those who thought it would make the regular season "meaningless" in case of a rematch and yet, years later everyone accepts it.
Posted on 10/18/12 at 3:26 pm to RogerTheShrubber
No one is voted into the SECCG. That's the difference.

You're really going to make me list the very obvious differences between teams from the east and west rematching in the conference championship game as opposed to the SEC champion having to have a remtach from a team within their own division in the BCS?
Do I really need to?

You do realize that those voters were the ones that put us in the 2007 NCG at 11-2 over a lot of other teams that were 11-2 or better. How did that happen?
But its been fun guys, really a great way to make my day go by a lot faster. Thanks for the entertainment. Ill leave with this... Losing to Iowa St trumps everything Okie St did in 2011.
And

Well we won the SEC Championship, for one thing. Also, every other major team except Ohio State had two losses. Given these facts, who else should've gone?
