If teams are seemingly getting away from the big time OOC games to start the season, then let’s just kick off the season with an SEC game.

Imagine week 1 in Tiger Stadium LSU vs Arkansas or LSU vs Texas A&M

Sprinkle in the cupcake OOC games one in September one in October and one in November.

I'm pretty sure most coaches prefer a tune up type game to figure out the depth chart before playing the big boys and I doubt Kiffin is much different there.

Going in game 1 against a tough opponent puts a lot of faith and trust you made the right depth chart decisions in camp where they hardly even touch one another these days.

Yep exactly so that’s why we play Arkansas or someone in the bottom third of the league first.

I don't see that happening. Arkansas got locked into the end the year again and its harder to find OOC opponents later in the season. So you're just not going to have big matchups week 1 until the Playoff committee changes the rules and requirements to be merit based and not just "whats the record?"
