I just don't have much confidence in PM making the right decision in a close game. When to bunt. When to pull a pitcher. When to stay out of his own way (hit and runs)... If he goes with the higher percentage play, and the team can't execute that's one thing. If he has a reliever ready in time before an inning gets out of hand and the pitcher can't execute, that's one thing. Again, little confidence in that.

Not pinch running for your DH in the 8th inning is mind boggling. I honestly think he just wasnt paying attention. The second Beau got on, he should have been pulled

He's done something like that before. He once lost track (admittedly in the post game) of his substitutions vs Tennessee 3 years ago. He ended up with Sciv at 1B and Tyler Moore catching when defensively, it was preferred to have them swapped. Sciv had a couple mistakes at first which cost us the game.

Then there's calling off the bunt when a runner gets to 2B with no outs. He did it vs UF last weekend and twice in back to back home weekends vs Ole Miss and Kentucky, again, 2 years ago.

Finally, we have hit and run or forced crap in many other ways in the first inning. I just don't get that. He'll bunt, steal, etc. in the first inning, it doesn't work, the inning goes fast and whatever momentum we had with getting a base runner is wasted.

Agreed. It was late enough in the game anyway that even if you don't have confidence in the bat of whoever you run, it's unlikely that spot in the line up would come up again.

And even if that is the consideration, there are other guys that pinch hit at that point.

If that spot comes up again, it either means we are kicking their arse cause we have batted around, or we are in extra innings

And, there isn't really anyone on the bench at this point that would run, but would not be expected to pick up the bat at some point. Breaux being the primary pinch runner, he's also a spot starter.

The only guy I could see them running that you wouldn't want batting would be Strall. And that is pure speculation, I honestly don't know how fast he is. I'm just assuming he's an option because they stuck him out at second a few times.

Is Frederick fast?

For stereotypical reasons of course...

Outside of the UNO box score, I have no proof he exists. I've never seen him in the dugout during a game.

(I went to sleep before the end of the UNO game)

I was wondering why Breaux for Beau didn't happen in the 8th...and when he got thrown out @ home on a really close play, I bet Pawl was just thinking that he shuda made the switch...
LSU baseball has become the "wuda, cuda, shuda" team this year...
we have talent, youth, & experience...there are going to be games like these...

I'm still on the "stay calm" train at this point. Let's see what the boys can do these next couple weeks. If the hitting is still bad, then I will move onto the "slightly panic time" train.

We can be honest. Totally different atmosphere around here if we sweep Aggie.

Don't really need to sweep, but we need to win the series for sure.

This team needs to start focusing on every at bat every game.

if they do it your way, they will be too tight and then people will say they need to calm down and relax.

Chances are that the ego's which are each player, have enough invested in looking good and doing well, both for any hope of pro contract, keeping their scholarship, and how their GF thinks about them and how their dad talks to them, that they are all focusing attention during their own at bat.

They may not be all that great. and rest assured, the game is a big game for the other team. Winning that one BIG game in a losing season is something you can remember and feel good about.
You guys seem to forget that the other team is out there too. They are not dog meat. They can play.
