I don't say he's a moron, but he is a mediocre coach. That's middle ground. Giving him all the credit in the world for his first three seasons is fine, but we will see how he does now that all the players are his. I think we got a taste of the future this year, and I can guarantee you that the "negatigers" will be out in full force next year if and when we don't win the West.

In order for us to be great next year, we need to fix problems. There are plenty still left to fix.

We'll get there, just can rest on this one win. The disappointment of the season needs to feed the hunger/want to do better.

This is how Florida did it. Georgia went with the opposite approach this year.

You're disappointed???
Lots of folks had LSU going 7-6 after getting GT as an opponent.

FWIW I thought 3 losses this year but after the way things played out I am happy the team went out on a high note. That should carry through to next year. Obviously much more positive for the program than if they lost last night...

...So how do you see next year??

I would say considering the changes in the coaching staff, the emergence of Jefferson, the focus and preparation by the team/staff for the bowl game and the great success the staff is having in recruiting...that there is a hunger/want to do better.

Hopefully we focus on things that went wrong and fix them especially on defense. Secondary, LB coverage, d-line consistency.

No reason why we can't compete with Bama and Ole Miss for the west and get our shot in the SECCG.

But things need to be seriously fixed before then. This was true before the GT game and remains true even now.

A negatiger expects failure, I expect and predict improvement.

Why was it necessary to bring me up? It's hilarious that there are people on here predicting some amazing season next year after beating GT, when previously they were saying 8-4/9-3. Absolutely amazing.

Because you put yourself out there, saying that you "foresaw" the oncoming demise of the LSU football program. How is it that such a "mediocre" coach got a demoralized, undisciplined team ready and beat down a highly favored GaTech team essentially playing a home game?

I haven't predicted anything. I just stood by my right to be encouraged by the changes I see coming on the staff and the recruiting class that's on the way.

Sorry, Sammich... first thing I did when I got on the computer was to find that great piece of insight about the future of LSU football.

He's done this every single year, and yet you're still surprised? Since you like looking through my posts, find the ones where I compliment his bowl preparation.

But yeah, he does what he does every year, so now we're going to be MNC CHAMPS AGAIN OMG! I guess beating the shite out of OSU last year was a sign of a great season this year.

UF went 8-5 last year as well and are in the mnc game. I see some similarities, weak pass d for them and us in the down year, we didn't have a qb this year, thats all they had last year, both teams were young in key areas......

I'm just as happy about the crushing of the bees as the rest of you but the season was still a huge dissapointment. 5 losses was more than I expected even in a 'rebuilding' season.

The win takes away some of the pain but I really hope the players feel the bitter dissapointment of the season and come back on a mission next year.

I hope they don't rest on this win because in the long run, it doesn't mean that much.

The new year is only 14 hours old and we have our first nomination for "Negatiger of the Year."

They were 9-4 and were competitive in every loss.

UF was a one man show. Their entire defense last year was comprised of freshmen or sophomores, and despite what people want to believe, we weren't that young this year defensively. They didn't have any running backs, LSU did. Their offensive line was relatively weak, LSU's wasn't.

UF's season last year was fairly acceptable when you look at it objectively. No one thought we'd be this bad.

Plus, Florida returned their entire team this year. We don't.
