“Flaming” is the deliberate act of creating a post in order to incite members of the board and invoke a negative response.

You're not using proper context.

We talking about basketball dude. Please don't compare to football. Not the sport were the fan's want to fire there coach after a 13-1 season. Please don't do that to me.

Still think we are one year away from making the tourney. They are a solid squad though and I hope they prove me wrong.

Have you seen Trey Burke from Michigan? Uhh, obviously not. Hickey is a nice PG, but Trey Burke is ridiculously filthy good.

No. You started a thread filled with lofty, and somewhat unrealistic, expectations of the team. You also made some statements that left many of us puzzled (best PG, great depth, etc).

The responses were to give a ground-level perspective, provide more realism, and to discuss upcoming matchups tougher than the schedule so far.

If anything, you are the anti-troll, making very positive statements in order to incite comments.

With the solid core we will have next year, any coach could make the tourny with them. Very little coaching will be needed.

Remembering the days of old with Dale Brown, I would Love to see a resurgence of this program. It's a long time coming. And we have a coach who has ties to the program and WANTS TO BE HERE! With the upcoming recruiting class and hopefully more to follow, I'm very excited about the prospects.

Note: I don't think we make the NCAA this year but the NIT is definitely a possibility. I'm thinking 2 years to get this going.

I think he would be considered a sunshine pumper.

I, for one think we will be around .500 in the SEC, which will get us into the NIT. It's fine by me, I could even go without a postseason this year due to the fact that i can absolutely see a better future for this program.

The OP may be a little overzealous right now, but maybe he's doing the right thing. If he keeps spreadin the word of LSU basketball around town more people will start paying attention to it, then going to the games. If the PMAC starts filling up for games, maybe LSU comes away with a home win or two that they aren't expected to and perhaps that one or two wins is what slides them into the tournament. People want to follow this basketball program, they just need to be led to water.

keep spreading the word OP, do your civic duty!

100% agree. In years where there was little to be excited about (last 3 or so) I have taken the role of sunshine pumper... This year I have a feeling there is actual gold rather than pyrite. That's why I am saving remarks like these for the appropriate time.

Serious question....if we had lost by 20, which it looked like might happen early in the 2nd half, what would the conversation be right now? We looked pretty crappy for a good stretch of the game until the press got unleashed.

If we lost by 20 then it would be bad around here. I think that's where most of the excitement came from though. The fact that you can't count them out. I mean Seton Hall may not end up being a very good team, but we showed we can battle. Also it was nice to win on a day where we were miserable from three point land.

finally somebody actually through a name out there i would consider being better. I give you burke but by the end of the year Hickey will be better. defensively hickey light year ahead of burke though.

We are watching the beginning of a rebirth of fast, aggressive winning style basketball that LSU was known for during the Brown era of the 80s and early 90s.

Coach JJ, aka "the Bullet" is putting his personality and speed into this team...building something special again...I can feel it!

I'm excited about this team and I hope that everything you've posted comes to fruition. However, let's not get too excited about beating a middle/lower tier Big East team. Is this team much more exciting and should they finish better than last season? Absolutely. Let's get back together to discuss after the upcoming three game road trip. It has been a while since I've been this excited about LSU hoops!

Did not read the OP or thread. Couldn't get passed the first sentence. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you are sunshine pumping with the best of them. Have you been to all 5 home games in person?
