Kansas had players that were never cleared to play - both Preston and De Souza

Auburn had players that missed games as well - Wiley and can't remember the other one

Sexton at Bama missed one game

Bagley at Duke had already gone pro when it all came out, same with Adebayo at Kentucky

This.

Others have sat. It's just that LSU is in the crosshairs today. Someone else will be there shortly because simply put, this is not a "LSU problem". This is a college basketball problem. Every power conf. programs deals in the "business" of improper benefits. Every. Single. One. AAU is essentially a marketplace for HS basketball talent. That's why it exist.

The debate is not whether or not the wiretap conversation creates a strong implication of impropriety on the part of Wade. It does.

The only debate is whether suspending Wade and/or Smart at this point in the season has any practical effect. The "cheating" took place in 2017. Wade has coached 30 games this season and Smart has played in 30 games. It's not like sitting them is going to absolve the crimes in 2017. It's simply a question of whether or not you think sitting these guys will mitigate any sort of anticipated "punishment". I seriously doubt it will, but that's simply my opinion.

I happen to be in the minority that thinks the suspension was needed for optics for when the NCAA comes calling. However, I believe that if the compliance department can't get hard copy proof from something other than a third party, then reinstate both. Then, when releasing a statement make sure to put the pressure on the NCAA by saying that we have done our due diligence and that our actions are consistent with many other major programs in similar situations. Make them apply the same discipline to everyone or no one.

That's just not true.

With that said, there are many (Self, Calipari, K, Williams...) who have been smart (or maybe just lucky) enough to stay an arms distance away from the transactions.

Oh shite, then read between the lines and deduce that we already know that the payments to Smart & family were hidden about as well as the phone call discussing them?

Wait, so if Wade tells all, he may get a less severe sentence, or if he refuses to tell, he gets a harsher sentence, but either way his career has just taken a drastic change? What would stop him from a tell all book from the inside that dismantles the entire system? Why wouldn't he take down the NCAA? Wouldn't it be in their best interest to not be too hard on him, but encourage corrections to be made throughout the system?

If I was the NCAA, this is exactly what I'd want Wade to help with. Won't happen though. For one, the mob is definitely involved at some level here and WW would be at risk. Second, there have been bigger cases than this that eventually get pushed under the rug.

Corruption always starts at the top...this vast corruption is the NCAA, admins, and the boosters as well. Thats it, point blank..bam bam..all you need..why doesnt anyone else see this?

Why do you think all the top coaches never get caught, because no one above them cares...they want to hold this standard to others as proof they are for the cause, when they are the cause!!!

It will take someone with clout to do something brave and stand for whats morally right, same story everytime.
Until then Its freedom for them. Justice for everyone else. Mic drop.
