The decisions they make and the results that come from those decisions directly impact their job status at years end. Im not a Joe Alleva fan, so my faith in him to make the right decision on the coaching situation aint real good. I hope they play their arse off and win out, but if you look at the performance you have seen on the field in the last 2 weeks, and you project it to be much different, reality aint your strong point. Im an LSU fan to the bone but I am a realist.

I was pissed when later on in the 4th, we had a 4th and (maybe 3?), and the OL all jogged off the field. It was clear at that moment that the OL had no interest in playing whatsoever.

That and the not being able to get a play off in the hurry up like 4 or 5 snaps in a row were just two of the worst moments i can remember

Bull shite yourself William You've been on the rant long enough to see how these things work out. You have people that post on here that are just waiting for a chance to post something negative about Miles and the coaching staff.
I don't know which side of the aisle you're on with regards to how you feel about Miles, but don't act stupid and pretend that Miles doesn't get flack from some of the idiots on here no matter what decision he makes.

quote:What the frick am I making up? Arkansas leads the SEC in TOP because they pound the fricking rock. The only reason their time of possession was not high as giraffe pussy against us was because they scored so damn easy. So late in the game our coaches should think, "How has the other team been running the ball? Because that is what they will do here, can we stop them in a quick fashion?" And the answer would have been Arky had over 275 yards rushing, with almost 3 backs being over 100 yards. So to punt there expecting they wouldnt have a long drive or a score is asinine. But apparantly, our coaches think like you and others in this thread and have no ability to actually monitor what is happening in a game
We got beat and there are plenty of things to bitch about without resorting to making things up.

I was stunned that they sent out the punt team - it made no sense
But then we called timeout with 15 seconds on the clock.
We had em where we wanted them then.
We are just a bag of assholes when it comes to clock and strategy later in games.

At that point of the game with 4th and 8 it was the correct decision.
Wrong, anywhere near midfield you go for it if you're down 2 scores in the fourth. As a coach, you're telling your team "I don't believe in you" if you don't go for it here.

It seems to me you're telling your defense you don't believe in them if you go for 4th and long with over 10 minutes to go.

quote:He should tell them that. When you give up 299 yards rushing, you are a shite for brains to give the ball to the other team hoping for a quick stop
It seems to me you're telling your defense you don't believe in them

Re: 4th and 3, down 14, 10:00 to go: "I kind of always played, when you finish second, the same style of college football."
It was the prior possession you must be thinking about, down 10, 24-14 with 1:15 left in the 3rd. Harris completed an 8 yd pass to make it 4th and 4 at the 47. It would have been a 1st down if Clapp hadn't committed a false start on 3rd and 7. That was a time to go for it, having trailed the entire game and still needing 2 scores.
When LSU scored at the end of the 1st half with 8 passes and one PI penalty it took 9 plays, 92 yds, and 3:31 seconds off the clock. There were 5 first downs and a penalty to stop the clock but it still took forever to get a play called. That is NO faster than the 111th FBS season avg in 2013-14 of 2.3 plays per minute. So, not exactly an up-tempo HUNH or even a 2 minute offense.
When LSU came out after the Half, Holly Rowe asked Les if he was going to stick with 'tempo and passing' that seemed to be working and he said no 'we have a nice mix of runs and passes planned'. Translation: We have to get Fournette his Heisman yards. Dupre said “If they were recruiting me and they told me they were going to give the ball to Leonard or the other running backs 75 percent of the time, it might be hard to get a recruit at the receiver position or quarterback position. But at the end of the day, we’re here. We’ve got to live with it. We’re doing the best that we can do blocking.”
