02/28/10 - DISPUTED RECORD: LSU's 5-foot-5 kick returner Trindon Holliday ran a blazing 40-yard dash Saturday morning. There were disputed reports as to whether he beat the record 4.24 time set two years ago by current Titans running back Chris Johnson. ESPN reported that Holliday ran a 4.22, while NFL.com said he narrowly missed the record with times of 4.27 and 4.32. Later, it was reported he ran a 4.34. The issue remains unsettled, as official times are expected to be sent out to teams within the next couple of weeks. - Charles Chandler, The Charlotte Observer

official times are always higher than the reported times

ford is at 4.28. trindon is at 4.34

who do you think is closer to the record?

Trindon ran a unofficial 4.22 and a official 4.27

ford ran an unofficial 4.22 and an official 4.28

trindon had 1 scout time him at 4.22, schefter reports it, and people run with it. his official was 4.34

disputed

not by any reporting service worth a frick

ONE scout timed trindon at 4.22 and schefter ran with it, and the non-professional sites/blogs ran with it

hell, donte stallworth ran a 4.17 per a scout or 2. so he's obviously faster than trindon

spiller just ran a 4.28 unoffical timied 40. said it was the same as ford. holliday ran a 4.27 so they are posting whatever time they feel is worthy of the person running it.

Mike Mayock of the NFL Network made the comment that several people, including himself, clocked Jacoby Ford at somewhere between 4.22 to 4.24 with the unofficial posted at 4.27. Ford's official unofficial was later posted as 4.28. So depending on who you ask, Jacoby Ford also may have posted a time matching or beating Chris Johnson's record today (as others might have as well...if you go by the unoffical unofficials).

No, i didn't say he was. But others have been talking about "other times" that Holliday was clocked at other than his noted slower "offical time." Some posted that these "other times" are faster than what's noted as Ford's "official times." However just as Holliday had faster "other times," so did Ford.

From everything I have read, it appears that, officially, Ford and Spiller have faster "official times" than Holliday.

But you'll have to come up with a good reason why a lack of blocks and a gun would have a greater effect on him than on anyone else.

arrogance.

he didn't work the 40 and the start as much as others. He just assumed he could go out and dominate that race without as much specific training for it as other top prospects. He was wrong.

What most pundits are failing to mention is that Ford is also a world class sprinter, so it was definately a toss up between to 2. Spiller looks just like trindon in stature and style, so that is also not really shocking

Can someone tell me exactly HOW it can be disputed? All this tell me is that ALL 40 times are complete Bull shite! If you have an real electronic timed 40 like they always tell us the combine is there is zero dispute. Instead we really find out that its just a bunch of stop watches..

No shite. I don't care what the 40 times say, when those other dudes can run a 10.00 100 meter, they can say they're faster than Trindon.

All we keep getting told is that Deion Sanders time was a stop watch and not offical.. And we are supposed to belive that CJ is legit. Yet now we find out its really all hand timed.. frick that BS. Thats horse shite and is seriously flawed. A REAL electronic time would show on a board the Split SECOND he would finish and everyone would know exactly what he ran. Anything else is just pure speculation of speed with a MAJOR human error involved.
