What was your reaction when it happened? Mine was "Wow they really pulled that one out of their arse!"

Based on how that game had gone and how they never had an answer for our offense, I wasn’t that surprised. Oh I cheered like hell from my seat in the east upper deck of DKR, but I remember thinking before the play, “I think we got this.” When JJ broke it for the score, that’s when I thought, “oh, holy shite!”

Well, it was only 3rd down. Not the 1960s where you punted on 3rd down

I watched the replay from a few angles and thought wow an LSU QB hasn’t made a throw like that in a long long time.

Went nuts with the few LSU fans I had around me. We were sitting in a sea of orange in the lower bowl.

Before: Let's just run the ball and make them use their last timeout. Try to pin them deep and I think (hope) our defense can keep them out of the endzone.

After:

I was a little squeamish before the play because neither team could stop the other's offense. If we had to punt it became a game of who had the ball last. My reaction was complete excitement because I knew it locked up the win. It turned out I was wrong since they went for an onside kick where recovering would give them a chance to win.

Regardless, it was a phenomenal game that we kept a leg up but there was enough doubt to keep it exciting. Our offense and defense improved so much over the course of the season and that game wasn't representative at all of how good that team would become.

As I've posted in previous threads regarding my 3rd and 17 conversion reaction- I was laughing maniacally after Burrow stepped up, swiftly dodged the blitz and hit Jefferson in stride. As he hauled it in, broke the tackle and sprinted down the sideline, I was in awe of our QB and quickly realizing that we had something special cooking on offense and that we were capable of absolutely anything.

I was relieved man. We couldn’t get a damn stop that half and the crowd was very loud deep into the 4th Q.

Joe stepped up and Jefferson housed it. It was a special night in Austin Texas.

I was too excited to really think much about it at the time. After the game, watching the replays I was struck of how many times it seemed like the other team had stuck a dagger in our heart on a 3rd or 4th and long.
