So to be clear...

This...

Plus this...

Equals an "uncatchable ball?"

How far off the mark do you think this ball is to make it uncatchable? The only things which made this ball unctahcable were wearing navy jersies.

Earlier we heard about the trajectory. I think these two images together prove that's BS. the first image shows the ball 5-7 yards away. the next it's within 2 given the proximety to 33's hand. And yet, the ball is tracking right at Early chest. At WORSE that's a ball that hits him in his left hand as he goes by.

Yeah...which is why I'm stunned anyone would continue to make this horrible argument.
At the time the ball was tipped, you could draw a straight line from Jamarcus to Brock's hand to the #9 on Doucet's jersey.

But...

Doucet was moving perpendicular(ish) to the ball's trajectory. When the ball's line would have intersected with Doucet's line, Doucet was a few yards from the ball.

It was uncatchable.

There was no pass interference.

I'm not sure of the technical aspects of the rule, but I've always thought that "uncatchable" meant no one involved in the play had a chance to catch the ball.

In addition, the ball wasn't thrown at Doucet. It was thrown at Auburn's Brock.

Combing two images form this thread proves this is incorrect. And since you won't provide anything more substantial than your memory of the video, I'd say you're done here.

you're just making shite up now...

Brock was 20 yards away as Russell started to make the throw. And Russell didn't make the throw to a spot behind Doucet, the throw was woefully short which is why Doucet had to stop and wait on it like a punt returner.

Looking at the video right now. It's easily youtubable.

Yep. Had Russell made a GOOD pass, it would have hit Douct around the goal line. Doucet had Gilbert beat and was going to walk in. The pass was UNDERthrown, nor thrown behind Doucet...which is why you see Early cutting his route short in an attempt to make a play on the ball. suggesting it was uncatchable would be suggesting that Russel, not known for missing guys by 10 yards while at LSU, would have had to have thrown the ball SOOOO far away from Early that even after adjusting his route he could not have touched the ball. That's stupid on it's face.

Is it easily linkable? This is your argument, not mine. And if you can't see the ball from either endzone your point is worthless.

Awww...what the hell. Sure. Feel free to actually provide some evidence other than your memory of the event. I mean...while your take on your memory IS compelling, remember I'm a skeptic. Some evidence would be most appreciated.

Keep in mind...if it's a side shot of the play, don't bother...because your whole argument now seems to hinge on whether or not the ball was catchable based on the trajectory...which in no way could be concluded from a side shot.

The best replay angle is the end zone camera. LINK

If I'm the white hat in that game, I talk with my back judge, and hopefully he tells me that it's illegal contact downfield; that's the right call.

There is no way that pass was uncatchable. Your video proves it. Doucet was in a position to make the play, arguing anything else is completely retarded. Actually it's not, that'd be insulting to retards.

The angle from the 50 second mark tells you everything you need to know. There was no issue with the trajectory of the ball. Without Brock making the outstanding play, the ball hits doucet's body. That view shows that without question.

Is your issue in the interpretation that since Brock made a play then it can't be PI because his tipping the ball made it uncatchable? I'd disagree tremendously with that interpretation.

And keep in mind, the sEC office came out that week and upheld the NO CALL. Not that they picked up the PI flag, but they affirmed NO FOUL had occured on that play. ZERO penalties there.

I haven't read this thread (and don't plan to), but I'm impressed that it's at 9 pages and still going 3 years later.

Yes, the officiating was horrible and may have lost us the game. Our play calling and execution wasn't much better than the officiating.

Regardless, it's probably time to move on.

Your argument has no merit whatsoever and sounds like the desperate, contrived nonsense of a contrarian who wants to prove he is somehow more erudite and impartial than other LSU fans.

The pictures posted by GueaxTiger above are dispositive.

In short, you have been pimp-slapped with a penis in this thread.

Sorry, you post a video that shows a catchable ball and try to say it's not catchable.

That is how you argue.
