Unless I am mistaken, pass interference in the end zone in college spots the ball at the 1 yard line, not just 10 or 15 yards and a first down.

15 is the most you get in CFB. and our RT that year was the almighty Peter Dyakowski!

We lost that game because we managed all of 3 points prior to this play. If you play shitty for the whole game and fail to score, then you deserve to lose. I'm not denying it was a blown call. But only losers blame the refs.

The fumble call on Hester in the redzone was the wrong call too even after the review.
Dropping the ball was a horrible play call by Miles. He should have been fired at halftime.

It wasn't just that call, there was at least five bad calls against LSU..and another horrible five non-calls where Auburn should've been flagged..

One of the worst not-called-on-the-square games I've ever seen.

Now, there was also interference on LaFell in the end zone that even Ray Charles could have seen near the end of the first half.
This is the other possibility that I was referencing.

Thanks on both counts, ATL.

I thought it mattered if the call was in the end zone, similar to holding on the offense in its own end zone. Either way, the flag should have come out - there is simply no denying that. A 15-yard penalty would have put LSU in chip shot field goal range, because I'm pretty sure LSU was at the Auburn 33 at the time.

If you remember there were several other "questionable" calls that ended LSU drives. So yes LSU should have scored more points but how could they when the officials pulled the stunts that they did.

I think the financial records of each official that had any part of the 2006 LSU vs Auburn game should have been examined and made public record.

The suspension of the crew from the UF vs Ark game is a bunch of crap to me. It's like Redding and Slive got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and are sorry now.

Of course, prior to that was the infamous incomplete pass call on the review of Hester's 4th down catch and fumble. The man took two steps before he was hit!!!!!! How in the hell could the review official call that an incomplete pass?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
That ruling was actually an over ruling. It was rendered after it was called complete on the field.

Again, even Ray Charles, alive or dead, could have made the correct call, and the officials in the booth did not.
Ahh . . . the memories!

Yes the 2006 was bullshite...but in 2007, on Jacob Hester's 5 yard TD early in the fourth..it was clearly Illegal formation and the TD stood..

Not true. It was legal. There was an official who had four on the line on his side, and he failed to signal that to his opposite line judge before the play. The other official, who had two on his side, threw the flag, assuming, therefore, that there were five on the line. They conferred and picked up the flag. It was the right call.

No, Early Doucet was considered on the line of scrimmage. Receivers ask the ref if they are on the line, and they say yes or no. You don't have to your toes on the ball to be considered on the line of scrimmage. In fact, if Doucet wasn't on the ball, then the Auburn defensive end was offsides (I remember the still shots well).
