Ohio State brought in the #5 class in the nation last season and are losing 4 of the 5 freshmen they brought in (lost one earlier last year - Austin Grandstaff).

(5'9, 160) PG A.J. Harris - Was a 4-star #86 overall player

(6'7, 210) SF Mickey Mitchell - Was a 4-star #119 overall player

(6'10, 235) C Daniel Giddens - Was a 4-star #49 overall player

All 3 played sparingly as freshmen averaging between 13-18 minutes a game. Hope we take a look, especially at the big.

Knowing Jones, we'll probably take the 5'9 guard.

Why would they leave one situation for a worse situation? Makes no sense.

I dont think it's much outside the box thinking after what we saw this year.

I meant sooner rather than later foreshadowing.

Would you come here after the disaster we saw from this year?

Who wouldnt want to play for a coach who gets his players to the NBA.
Johnny O'Bryant
Jordan Mickey
Jarell Martin
Ben Simmons

Or they could go somewhere that gets his players flipping burgers somewhere.

Which begs the question as to why they would consider LSU? They wouldn't be eligible to play this season and would be rolling the dice on an unknown coach for the next. The only way I could see them considering LSU is if Jones is assured to be here for at least two more seasons regardless of next year's results.

While it may have been unlikely they would consider LSU anyway, this is just another example of how delaying the inevitable for a year has no benefit for the program. Jones was already going to get killed for this year's underwhelming performance by other coaches on the recruiting trail. Throw in the fact that he is a presumptive "lame duck" coach, and I just can't see how he gets many, if any, real players of note to sign in October.

A new guy could have come in and tried to salvage what is here already (maybe TQ comes back with a new coach?) and started to build for the future. Now LSU is stuck with next year being essentially a lost year unless Jones has unexpected tournament run

So I should just assume we will be shitty in football this year again. Because I surely didnt see much to like last year at the end of the year. Our fricking head coach was fired and someone had to step in and save him.
