How does CPM sit there and let Hess walk 2 and not to get him but he lets him walk bases loaded and the next pitcher is in a bad situation.

Because the same reason every time he does that early in the season. To see how the pitcher handles it. To give him experience in that situation.

Agree. One batter too long. Anyone watching could see it.

CPM is the king of hanging pitchers out to dry.

Hess hasn't started that many games in his career. He hasn't faced that situation much. Have to see if he can fight his way through it. The formula has worked out pretty good for Mainieri in his career so far.

Pull after 100+ pitches and two straight ugly walks that’s fricking what. I get letting him walk the first. I can even get the second. But the third? Get out of here with that shite

Ok. If this wasn't that situation. When do you suggest Hess getting experience in late innings in a jam when he starts to get close to 100 pitches?

Ok, but that doesn't give him experience in a pressure packed situation in a close game that goes to late innings. I get where you're coming from and don't think the opinion is crazy. I just happen to disagree. I believe we have this conversation every year in the early going and Paul has finished with 6 straight national seeds. Since we are only talking about how this affects the regular season standings, I believe that carries weight.

Don't waste your time trying to explain things to all the coach extraordinaires on here. It may screw up the next tee ball game.

I think it's a combination of wanting to see how far his starters can go and giving them a chance to get themselves out of a bad spot. He also tends to not want to warm up a pitcher and not use him which explains the waiting to put guys in the pen.

Paul is thinking May-June while rantards are freaking on March.
He got this.
