Calvin Johnson and Demarius (sp? no idea) Thomas came from the Georgia Tech triple option attack.
Calvin Johnson played at Tech under Chan Gailey, who didn't run the triple option.
178 career receptions
2,927 yards
28 touchdowns

James Wright plays for the Bangles and didn't have a catch his senior season. NFL goes more off measurables, character and potential more than college stats...
Non sequitur. And instead of "stats", it would be more appropriate to say production/film. Obviously measurables, character, and potential are important, and it's about the complete package (the mixture of a lot of different factors), but the production/film is often the major determinant. It varies from player to player and is dependent on specific circumstances. From the same year, take Jarvis Landry for example -- in his case, the measurables weren't as important -- his incredible film/production was extremely important in his draft analysis. Jarvis was a high character guy too.
If this is regarding Dupre's comment, I think it would be a mistake to read that as completely implicative about the NFL.
Also, I think it was a mistake for LSU to not utilize James Wright more often.

Demayrius Thomas did, they didn't run one when Megatron was there.

I remember when we had a highly recruited QB that was struggling with moving in the pocket and with some down the field throws but clearly showed the arm talent to be successful
I remember when we had 5 star recruits that were struggling to catch passes and had taken a steep decline from their freshman seasons success
That year was 2012 with h Zach Mettenberger, Jarvis Landry and Odell beckham that couldn't catch a damn cold that season.
Everyone re fricking lax.

4) Good route running and catching every ball thrown your way, will create MORE opportunities for you.
And going after the ball when it is not perfectly thrown

-Every team has wide receivers,
-the vast majority of them catch balls
-the majority of those still don't get drafted.
At LSU you can get drafted without catching a damn pass (wright).
Every receiver can catch a ball against prevent D in a spread system. You want to be a good pro let LSU perfect your run blocking, your mental toughness, and teach you a complicated vertical route tree from a PRO set.
Every receiver that saw the field on that "pass poor" 2011 team besides Boone is collecting a paycheck in the NFL. (Randle, shepard, wright, Odell, Jarvis)

Les will always subscribe to the philosophy that 3 things can happen when you throw the ball and 2 of them aren't good
Dumbest quote ever. 3 things can happen when you run the ball and 2 aren't good
