It's you who doesn't

If you're going to compare across years, use the entire "context" and don't pick and choose.

You just posted raw statistics and made assumptions

Notice how you go into great detail about the time on campus but keep ignoring the number of attempts. 83 more attempts is A LOT so the yardage isn’t as close as it seems, 10 ypa vs 7 ypa. If Mett threw as March as Burrow he’d have been close to 4000 yds

In context, that 2013 team was loaded and experienced, and had a running game to help the pass

Heavy sign, so much wrong here, hard to know where to begin.

First off context does not mean we have to discuss every aspect, every detail. Like which year had better WR or better OL. For a more a more detailed comparison or debate over which offense was better then yes that would be relevant but
As I said multiple times I WAS JUST RESPONDING to one point. I wasn’t comparing across years, Final Cut and Ricky were. It was Final Cut that brought up yards all I was doing was pointing out that Burrow had 1 more game and 83 more attempts to get to his yards than ZM did in 2013, it was Final Cut that made the comparison not me. It was him who brought up the raw statistic, not me, I just added detail The number of attempts is far more relevant to the raw amount of yards than the amount of time the QB had on campus.

As for assumptions I made, just1, I simply multiplied ZM ypa to Burrows actual attempts to get the projected yards for COMPARISON sake only I’m not making a statement about which offense was better or rather whether 2019 can Or cannot be as good as 2013. I even mentioned that it’s an indictment of the 2013 coach that we threw so much less.

The real assumption is you and FC that because I commented on FCs stat that I therefore agree with Ricky that this years offense can’t be as good as 2013 (if that’s what he actually said)
Frankly given that we threw so much more last year I would hope, dare I say assume that JB has more passing yards in 2019 than ZM had in 2013.

You listed stats without any context. It wouldn't be an issue had you not screamed context prior to throwing out raw data that makes a point, but isolates the information.

You don't feel it's fair to delve a bit deeper into context here? I think it's more than fair

Well 2008 was the worst season of the Miles era 7-5 before bowl an 3-5 in SEC. But that was follwed by his best recruiting class in 2009 (for all the he only won with Saban’s players) he then improved in 2009 by 2 games in the reg season and SEC. 2010, like the 05-06 teams went 11-2 and finished in the top 10.

You are completely missing the fact that when CLM started bama was not bama. O started with facing the greatest dynasty every year from day 1. If bama was what they were when CLM took over you could add 2 more wins for O

Miles recruited well, but he recruited Athletes then tried to make them fit into his scheme, or lack thereof.

Saban recruits athletes to match need .... that's most of the difference.....
since we are really talking Miles vs Saban.

In addition, Miles was arrogant and stubborn and continued to think his OLD MICHIGAN style of play would work. Well, with team w inferior talent he could wear some of them out and pull it out at the end, but not with equal or better talent.

I think O is looking to fill NEEDS.

Fair enough. If Miles wouldn't have been fired, and was facing the same caliber of teams that the 2016, 17 and 18 Ole Miss and Arkansas programs were, you could add 6 more wins for Miles.

Ole Miss:
2014: 9-4 - 17th final AP poll - 13th ranked rush defense, 29th ranked total defense
2015: 10-3 - 10th final AP poll - 10th ranked rush defense, 54th ranked total defense
2016: 5-7 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 120th ranked rush defense, 111th ranked total defense
2017: 6-6 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 124th ranked rush defense, 116th ranked total defense
2018: 5-7 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 116th ranked rush defense, 121st total defense

Arkansas:
2014: 7-6 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 12th ranked rush defense, 10th total defense
2015: 8-5 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 12th ranked rush defense, 58th total defense
2016: 7-6 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 94th ranked rush defense, 75th total defense
2017: 4-8 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 98th ranked rush defense, 102nd total defense
2018: 2-10 - Not ranked in final AP poll - 70th ranked rush defense, 79th total defense

Geez, we could do this all day.
