It’s fun fricking with the rantards who have no clue.
They can’t understand how we didn’t go to the World Series again.
FIFY - They can’t understand how we didn’t win the World Series. Children.
And I’ll bet these are mostly grow men posting.

That's why I am in favor of getting rid of the tournament format and just have a west vs east best 2 of 3 series at the end of the season. That way you dont have so much negativity associated with NOT making the tournament and you don't have teams burning through their pitchers prior to regionals. Either that or have an extra week before regionals start but that is even less likely.
I believe a few SEC programs have a strong desire to win the SEC tourney, which LSU is one, whereas some coaches are OK with playing one or two games and saving pitchers for the NCAA. They may not outwardly say that, but if they have already done enough to be well seeded what does it matter. I think the team was just worn out by game time last night. Bus to Hoover from their last series, stay in Hoover the duration, no sleep from fog game and then early start, fly out to Oregon, time difference, long games, etc. It couldn't have helped their performance regardless.

The Pac 12 doesn't have a conference tournament. They just add an extra conference series at the end of the season.
PAC-12 also only has 11 baseball teams. The SEC, on the other hand, has had at least 12 teams since 1992.

Brandt's dad, former Tiger, Burke had a heart attack in April and has been recovering. He retired as baseball coach of UHigh after his son finished and is still at the Lab School.

When USCe had a great run in the NCAA's, they were notoriously bad in the SECT. Vandy and UF have that philosophy and Skip wasn't far from it either. This year I cannot blame PM for his efforts in the SECT because the Tigers may not have made it otherwise. However, in previous years we seem to tire in the NCAAs as well after securing a high seed while PM puts up those amazing numbers in the SECT while most other very good teams rest players. I cannot answer this question for sure but were Walker, Hilliard, and others overworked that led to injury and even position players just worn out after balls to the wall efforts in the SECT right before the 3/4 most important weeks?

Skip won the SECT 6 times in his career.

I know that. I was merely responding to the other posters suggestion that instead of a tournament, the SEC have a best of three series that weekend. I was just saying that the Pac 12 does exactly that.

the announcer said as much last night. They said not even pro teams are asked to play 3 games in 24 hours like we had to Saturday and Sunday.

Auburn on road to end year
SEC tourney for a solid week
You come home and pack to head out to Corvallis with a two hour time difference
That's why you win enough to play at home

1. Neither UF nor Vandy downplay the SEC Ty. I have been to 7 straight tournaments and they don't "tank."
2. I know why we went to 12 teams, but I am in favor of going back to 8 teams in the SEC Ty.

LSUFBALL19 Skip coached 18 years in an era where SEC baseball was not nearly as strong as it is currently. From the horses mouth he wasn't that concerned about SECT. He could rest players and still win the thing as the far majority of SEC teams were not very good. He actually caused the others to improve over time. GeorgeWest no one said UF, Vandy, and USC purposely tried to lose or "tank", but they rested some players and did not emphasize winning because games that mattered were immediately ahead.

Add. I think he was somewhere above .300 before he went down, I don’t know his exact average but he was leading the team in BA.
He was bating .363 after the Vandy series when he got injured
