Pretty fricking sad. Florida, Bama, Auburn and Georgia have all participated more. Why do we call ourselves an elite program in this conference when the numbers say otherwise?

The numbers that say we've been to 3 national championship games in that same timeframe? And won 2? We sucked arse in the 90's. Everyone knows this. And Alabama has been on an obscenely dominant run under Saban for the past 10 years. You think Georgia or Auburn can claim to be more "elite" than LSU because of numbers? Tell me the last time Georgia's been to a national title. I'll wait...

Thread is talking about a 25 year time span. We won 2 Natty’s in that period and am thankful, however over a 25 yr period we have been more mediocre than great. Bama laughs at us.

That span overlaps with the lowest period in LSU football history.

Given that our 1st appearance was 2001... 5 times is pretty good, considering the unprecedented run Alabama has been on.

Our high point was 2001 - 2011 we won it 4 of 5 times we played on it.

From 2001-2011 LSU played in 5 of 11 SECCGs, winning four.

That aint bad.

For comparison, Alabama has played in 6 of the last 11 during Saban’s great run, winning 5.

But it is all because of O! We are an elite program that coaches lined up to apply for our job because we are in the SECCG year and year out....

Keep yall’s head in the sand guys. Starting a freshman next year will guarantee another 9-3 season.

Because we are in the same division as Alabama and Auburn and have UFORFEIT as a permanent East game . In the last 17 years we have played in five SEC games. At a time when ALL three aforementioned programs are at HISTORIC highs . Sounds pretty solid actually knowing that.

BTW, if you want to beat yourself up about the 1990s knock yourself out .

Bama is one of, if not the, most successful college football programs in the entire history of collegiate football. Why are some of you so obsessed with us not measuring up to Bama over an extended timeframe?

meh. I'm not going to lose my shite about this one. Auburn and Georgia JUST passed LSU with their appearances in today's game. Before this season LSU, UGA, AU and Tenn. were all tied for 3rd with 5 appearances each. It's not as if LSU is a distant 5th or 6th in appearances. Plus, FWIW, LSU easily has the best winning % (.800) and more total wins except for Alabama and UF.
