Yeah, one losing season. They also went to 6 bowl games in the years 1997 thru 2004. They got a big zero on bowl games during o's tenure and then went to 6 more bowl games from 2008 thru 2015.

shite, that's gotta show some of these dummies that there had to be something wrong at Ole Miss during the 3 years o was in charge.

at times yes...but we all saw the offense spit and sputter anyways. Some things never change.

The last decent run on offense was the 2011 season...first 8 games. Since then....just this side of putrid. The Mett/OBJ/JL connection was fun to watch but then there's still that pesky bottom line.

you do realize that the month of november in 2011( after week8) was our most productive month of offense right? thats when we played #2 bama and #3 arky.

I’ve grown tired of the arguing about O. 2018 he can silence his critics...

9+ wins and he gets to continue as LSU’s coach for at least one more year.

8 or less wins and Orgeron is done at LSU.

I'd be disappointed in 9 wins. I don't care about the schedule. The SEC is still weaker than its standard.. it should only improve moving forward so they schedule is going to get tougher, even without having to play Miami or Georgia every year.

8 wins is about where I have us though and I am an LSU homer.

Too bad lsu is on its ya to the most successful century in the history of college football. 8 wins a year for an entire century.

It appears hopeless trying to get some fans to understand the magnitude of this unqualified hire unparalleled at major programs today.

The anger and embarrassment from the Herman situation made Alleva vulnerable to high-risk, low pay-off choices. A simple list of pros and cons are facts put on paper that help most people think more rationally about their options.

It's unthinkable that Alleva would allow his emotions to drive the biggest decision for the football program.

Granted, that's not great, but your claim of only winning 10 games 2 times since 1962 is wrong.

10 wins in 2013 under Freeze. He’s widely recognized as the biggest recruiting in the decade. So, I don’t count that. But if you want to, great. Therefore you accept that has OLE MISS has had 3 10 win seasons over 55 seasons.

Therefore OLE MISS has had little success-even with cheating-over the last 55 years. Thanks for the clarification.

losing to a mid major does infinitely more damage to getting recruits than any words on an anonymous message board posters. o had his chance and failed.

So that’s it. It’s over for O already in your opinion. Should they let him go now since O ‘s loss to a mid major confirms his failure? Aren’t there coaches in the past-who turned out to be successful - who have lost to a Division 2 team in their first year? And some have probably lost 4 games in that first year too.

Why don’t people watch the seasons play out, hope for best, and pull behind the team? Seriously, what does ranting over unknown future failure help? I actually didn’t realize there were so many expert fortune tellers out there. You can’t change it anyway.

BTW, there is at least one first year coach in the history of the NCAA-who happened to be at LSU in 2000-who lost to worse than a mid major. He lost to Div 2 team UAB- and also had 4 losses that year. And he had a returning 5star QB and 4 and 5 stars throughout. And impatient experts were calling for his firing daily; Richard Condon was the most vocal of many. That coach’s name-Nick Saban.

“ The last decent run on offense was 2011”

I am often left wondering what LSU football some people have been following. 2013 saw the LSU O throw for almost 3100 yds, Mett completing 65%, and the team scoring 35pts a game, but that’s not “decent”???

As I recall, the D struggled more that season than the O.

So no coach had any success, yet Orgeron was the worst of the group. Legit.
