ESPN

In latest coaches poll. They are #24 in the AP.

Not many more chances to make OOC noise besides upcoming Furman.

This is it, Wade! Live up to what they thought we were!

Houston beat OSU by 10
Must win game for non conf and with it being on road.
These next three will determine how many you will have to win in SEC play.

It’s not the end of the world if we win or lose. The SEC is stacked we will have plenty of opportunity to boost our RPI but this would be great for our resume.

I hear ya, but a win will be huge.

St. Mary's isn't much this year, and we'll beat Furman at home.

And, as for the SEC, up until the Tennessee win last night, we've been getting spanked in big OOC games.

LSU is running out of chances to get "good" OOC wins. Houston ON THE ROAD is arguably the best potential "good" win remaining.

The selection committee has stressed over, and over, and over, that OOC games matter. Just doing well in conf. play is not always enough. While a loss to Houston may not be the "end of the world", it does mean the margin of error in SEC will be very small.

Wins away from home are more significant that wins at home. LSU already blew a chance at a neutral site win vs. FSU. Now they have to make up for that.

There was a reason a 8-10 (SEC record) LSU team was at least in the outside discussion for the NCAAT last year. A HUGE part being the OOC wins over Michigan and Houston. This LSU team doesn't have any significant OOC wins as of yet with only 4 more opportunities to get some left.

RPI doesn't exist anymore, it's NET rankings. Houston is #14, Furman is #28, LSU is #39.

Our next two are must wins. Right now our best win is UNCG and that’s not going to get it done on Selection Sunday. Even though St. Mary’s is down that would still be nice neutral court win and we should beat Furman at home. Let’s face it the SEC is down this year. Outside of Auburn, Tenn, and Kentucky, and maybe Moo St there aren’t a lot of opportunities for marquee wins even when conference play starts

It would be a huge win. I really struggle to call it a must win.

If LSU already had a neutral site win vs. FSU I'd agree. But this is the ONLY shot to get a true road win before conf. play. Those are huge.

Lose to Houston, then the best you can do in OOC play is a neutral site win vs. St. Mary's and two HOME wins vs. good mid-majors. While not the worst OOC results, it certainly isn't a resume that jumps off the page. (as opposed to last year's OOC record with wins over Michigan and Houston)

Get a road win, a neutral site win, to go along with some decent mid-major home wins and LSU is in ok position starting SEC play. But for every loss from here on out it means the margin of error in SEC play shrinks.

UH has won 21 straight home games dating back to last season, but they are back in their refurbished arena. I expect a big crowd, with many LSU fans in attendance - me included.
It would be a big WIN!

I like playing Houston. Id like this to be a yearly game.

They typically have a good team and play in a solid conference.

The top half of the SEC is scary good this year. I wont be surprised if we post a poorer record than last year in conference play!
