So anything short of double digit wins means Orgeron is on the hot seat year 3, correct ??

Assuming that Lsu doesn't pull another Troy, I think 10-2 is very attainable. (If he stays) Canada has proven he has an effective game plan, and I think it gets better in year 2. As far as Aranda is concerned, I think he fields a top 5 defense.
With that being said the biggest games:
Miami-if we don't turn the ball more than twice, I think we win
Auburn-losing Daniel Carson, and the entire o-line. Plus if Kerryon Johnson leaves, it changes everything for that offense.
Georgia-their talented, but most of their starters were seniors this year especially on defense.
Bama- their losing the entire secondary, their top 2 dt's, a couple of senior line backers, and Scarborough and maybe Harris.
Mississippi State-Fitzgerald is a good quarterback, but he is a product of Mullen's offense. I don't think he'll be as effective as he was last year in a new offense.
A&M-Jimbo runs a pro-style offense, and I think that plays in our favor. With our depth on defense and their lack of talent on defense, I think it's another lsu win.
We go 6-2 in these game

Defense is going to be nasty. Offense is going to struggle. Rinse. Repeat.

The last several offseasons people think we beat Bama. And we never do.

Oh yeah?... who was the more talented team when we played MSU & Troy?

Next year's schedule is BRUTAL, if O can go 11-1 with that schedule, he will have won me over. Honestly, if he can get 10 wins with a bowl game, I am going to be confident in him. The real goal should be to have a developed QB and Dline going into a great looking 2019 schedule, Vandy from the east, and huge win in Austin against UT? Yes please.

This is the fallacy that LSU fans so often fall into when assessing the Alabama game each year. It doesn't matter what they lost. All that matters is what they have for next year, and what they have is something like seven consecutive #1 recruiting classes. They will be elite at every position again next year, just like every year. Point to the weakness in the roster that they will be fielding next year and then maybe you will have a point. Until then, the fact that they are losing one or ten or 22 five-stars and replacing them with other five-stars doesn't tell us anything.

That miss st game is a trap game. Wouldn't be surprised if LSU loses or if it's really close

8-4 would be a good season against that schedule. 9-3 or 10-2 would be amazing.

Obviously expecting the team to beat Alabama is beyond a reach, and playing Miami with a QB starting his first college game can't be an "expected" win.

It does matter who they'll lose, do you think that bama has a better player at corner/nickel/safety than Minkah Fitzpatrick on the roster or coming in next year? I highly doubt it. Replacing starting corners with Savion Smith and Shyheim Carter. Bama's secondary is always overrated, except forLandon Collins. If their front 7 can't get constant pressure, you can beat their secondary. We seen it this year against us, against auburn, against state and Clemson last year.

11 - 1 ???..Not sure that anyone in the country will have a schedule that is as tough...8-4 might be good .....Miami, Auburn, GA and Bama will all be tough.....right now, I'd take 9-3 and be happy.....

What do we lose? QB will be better, Dline will be better, LB will be better and Dbacks will be as good.

We don't know how good our QB will be......expecting a raw rookie to come in and beat Miami right off the bat is gonna' be a tall order....plus.....Auburn, GA and Bama isn't exactly a cakewalk, either....

We could very easily be 4-4 heading into that bye week.

If we are 4-4 heading into the bye week, then I doubt we have the team to beat Bama. That would make us 4-5.

Good luck to O not getting fired if we are 4-5 after Bama. His buyout is $5 million on December 1, 2018. Doubt we hesitate to end the experiment. It's not like we are returning an inexperienced group of scrubs.

PS......I somewhat agree with your analysis with the exception of beating Georgia. i think they will be around a while and their D is good......unless they are losing a ton?

We are losing a ton. We have depth and talent but it will be inexperienced compared to this year.
