Everyone would probably agree Pocic stays to take over Left Tackle. The fact that Toby Weathersby has passed Malone (who Les has a man crush on), Boutte (who Les also man crushes on), and Brumfield (who I thought would start this year) is a great sign.

Pocic
Teuhema
Clapp
Boutte/Brum
Weathersby/Malone

Plus we have Chidi, Magee, and some other guys I forget. It might not be as good as this group, but there's no doubt Grimes is developing these guys great. I mean, the pass protection has become a strength in the past weeks, which took an adjustment.

I think our line will be fine next year.

We dont even have a backup MLB currently. Feist was the only guy seeing any time there and is now a FB.

Toliver started his first game here. It's not ideal, but we may not have a better option.

So read my last sentence. Not all players are the same but mlb is very difficult to just pick up. Beckwith began starting half way into his second season. Should have began year starting...but not fresh year. I don't know what's out there but hopefully a good juco is out there...

Also...I had high hopes for voorhies he was 2 time Gatorade player of year out of high school...very athletic...maybe is a tweaner?

There is a huge difference between starting at mlb and anywhere else on defense...

The same can be said for CB's.

Lol...OK. Not even going to argue the difference here if you don't already know.

We just have no other options unless Beckwith comes back for his senior year. It what it is, Chavis left this situation for us to deal with.

They have tried to play multiple different guys at MLB and none have worked out (Louis who wont even be back next year, Feist & Garrett who left). Feist was pretty much the last effort.

Riley, Voorhies and Alexander are all too small and that's the only returning LBs we have if Beckwith goes pro, therefore one of the freshmen have to start. The good news is we will have some very very talented options to choose from in Smith, Fowler and maybe Divinity.

JUCO is pretty much never the answer people on here make it out to be. Especially at this point most of the decent JUCOs are long taken up. Plus, it's not easy to recruit a true MLB from a JUCO, a lot of guys who end up at a JUCO arent the "smart" MLB types who can run a defense.

The ONLY other solution may be to see if Riley can put on 10-15 pounds and maintain his speed, then he might be the MLB for his last season. I'm still not sure it's any better than putting one of the talented freshmen there though. Fact is the experienced DL and experienced DB corps will mask a lot of LB deficiencies next year (which we are already fairly used to).

IF and I say IF there is a good option from juco it would be an easy sell. Even fournette wasn't near what he became at the beginning of last year. I'm not saying you are wrong...but if it turns out we have a tf starting the year at mlb...we are in trouble.

Exactly, I don't understand why people think JUCO starters grow on trees.

There isn't, that's why we've spent zero effort recruiting JUCOs this year. Good JUCO players rarely rarely exist for a power 5 school. People want to sit here and remember the great ones like a Cam Newton. It's REALLY tough to find a good player in JUCO at our level we expect and on top of that at a position that requires a field general.

This is the Top JUCO players in the country:
LINK

The top MLB is #34 overall in JUCO (which is low) and a mid 3-star with his best offers coming from Arizona State, Louisville and Nebraska. So yeah, I dont buy a MLB from JUCO being any better than top freshman talent we're bringing in.
