All you have to do to make Mett struggle a bit is take his first round left tackle away, start a hurt guard in that place, take away his all sec right guard and tackle, hurt his all sec center for most of the year, and take away the top receiver from a year ago. I'd say all told, it is remarkable he did that well.

Imagine if we ever played another QB in any other game how good they could be. We played the two stiffs last year most of the time. This year, Rivers has played at least one play in like three series. Hard to develop QB talent doing that.

UK was a stinker, but Lee did a real good job vs medocre Ds

He led the SEC is passing efficiency before Les benched him in favor of his chocolate love child. Our passing game didn't go to shite last year until Jefferson started.

To be fair(which I can see you have no intent) JJ, "the chocolate love child" threw vs top 5 defenses in 50% of those games and vs the other 50% he did quite well. He completed 100% in one and had one of the better yards by pass totals in another.
I guarantee you wouldn't have shrugged off this year's stats if JJ was under center.
All fact.

The staff is too busy developing the starter to give PT to #2.
I think last year that mistake was made with the blowouts not being utilized for Mett development.

all this really illustrates is how deceptive stats w/ no context can be.

There is no way in hell that JJ had a rating higher than like 75. He was god awful.

Mett is a first year starter...Not in the caliber of a cam newton....We can't judge him till next year...but if i had to gauge him against johnny football then he is behind the curve.

Too many drops this year with no true #1 elite receiver like they had last season. Also the o line (who lost the starting LT and had a RT quit) for the first half of the season was somewhat awful where as it was a huge strength all of last season.. They have since picked it up with lots of youngsters filling in.

Next year is going to be awesome!

Different experience-level of OL play

first year starter vs multiple-year starters

drops

Real comparison should be Mett next year versus the 2011 year.
