Johnson always has his teams playing well heading into postseason. It could very well be like 2024 where we need a run in Hoover just to get into the Tourney. I would hate to be a #1 Seed and see LSU in their Regional as a #2 or 3. This is a team with more than enough talent and arms to pull an upset somewhere.

They laughed at Louis Armstrong when he said he was gonna go to the moon.

Now he’s up there, laughing at them.

2022 Ole Miss numbers:

Preseason top 5, rose to #1 after 13-1 start. Lost 3 of next 4, Oral Roberts, Southeastern, and Auburn.

SEC series:
2-1 @ Auburn
Swept v Tenn
2-1 @ UK
Swept v Bama
1-2 @ SC
1-2 v Miss St
1-2 @ Arky

On May 1, they were 7-14 in the SEC, 1-8 at the Dude. They proceeded to sweep Missouri and LSU, then lost 3/4 again, including a one and done in Hoover.

Honestly, they weren’t even hot going into the regional.

Wasn’t ole miss one of the last teams in when they won?

That Ole Miss team was very talented and had lots of injuries that caused them to lose lots of games mid season.

If you recall when LSU played Ole Miss in Baton Rouge, and swept LSU, Jay said they were the most talented team in the country. Everyone thought he was merely making an excuse for getting swept by a mediocre team.

No… he wasn’t making excuses. They really were the most talented team in the country. They got fully healthy just before they played LSU and showed it in Baton Rouge. From that point on they were fully healthy and won it all.
