-Would you take 7-3 right now if you could get it? I think 7-3 with close games against Bama/Fla. would be a good season, all things considered. Thoughts?

-What is the redshirt requirements for this season in terms of playing time? Is there a number of games freshmen can play and still maintain redshirt status? I ask because it seemed odd to me that guys like Bradford/Dumervil/White/Sampah didn't play as far as I know. I saw Martinez but no Dumervil. I was also surprised that the walk-on RB played but no Bradford. Anyone know?

Isn’t this kind of irrelevant this year anyway? Which makes me wonder why we didn’t see either of the two freshman QBs.

I would take 7-3 this year nothing less though.
If we are competitive vs Florida and Alabama it’s all fine.

Also if we beat one of those 2 teams we are in the top 10. Expect a top 10 finish around 6-8 this year.

At this point playoff hopes are most likely over unless a major upset of Bama happens.

Just try to get as many wins as you can and hopefully a more normal offseason happens going into next season. I will be shocked if all these bowl games actually happen. Plus you will end up with a lot of opt outs.

I do think LSU could pull an upset on Florida with the way their defense is playing. I think Bama could get ugly.

Did the NCAA give a "free" season against eligibility for this season? Since you phrased it as being irrelevant, I think I remember now that kids get a "freebie" this year, or is that incorrect?

We get Bama at home this year which is huge.
We also will have several more games under our belts. We should be tested and I think we have a shot. Just depends on the defense and Brennan.

I think many are being negative prematurely. A shocker, I know.

No team in the SEC is invincible this season. So much can- and will- still happen.

I don't believe we will see an SEC champion that is 11-0.

For me, I don't see it as negativity more than I do just being realistic. I knew coming into the season that we would need a near flawless transition to Pelini's D and Brennan at QB for this to be anything better than 7-3. We lost historic amounts of impact players and then we lose arguably the best player in the country for the first game. The margin of error this season is razor-thin and we have, it appears, some very improved teams in the league this year.

The free season of eligibility is going to hurt LSU. Our competitors, that do not have the same level of top end talent, will be playing us with fifth year seniors next season. Our guys are mostly too good to wait around. They'll go pro, leaving us with third year players against their fifth year guys.

I would not be dancing in the streets or anything, but I’d be very content and optimistic going into next season if we finish 7-3 this year.

7-3 this year would be a solid “rebuild” season.

because we have a QB w limited practices due to the virus and he needs ALL OF THE REPS at this time...
AND Vandy is a confidence building game as well.

that same concept applies this season, accentuated with the limited practices...
it is harder on us w 2 coaches and 14 players gone than with some middle-of-the-road teams with stability in their staff and players.

Just. Frikkin'. Wow.

Brennan was highly recruited by LSU and is a damned fine QB. He stayed faithful through the years when he got very little playing time, and later only "mop up time" behind Burrow. You seriously don't know why we aren't letting a couple freshman QBs play? (And you know damned well that you'd come unhinged if Orgeron put a freshman in and LSU wound up losing.)

I'm going out back to cut a switch. Be prepared when I get back to the house.

7-3, no, but I would probably take 8-2.

Good question on the redshirt parameters for this season. Have to assume they've been adjusted somewhat.
