2 of the previous 146 CWS games had a team come back from a 4 run deficit

Been a fun CWS this year considering no LSU

Throwing a no hitter through 7 and then giving up 6 runs in the 8th. I've never witnessed that ever happening on any level of baseball.

Have u ever seen a team up 8-1 with 2 outs in the 8th and none on base....and lost? I hadn’t until gane 3 of the LSU OM SERIES

Vanderbilt and Mississippi St. have done well......albeit barely.

Hardly any will remember but in 1988 we did pretty much the same thing to OM...scored 9-10 runs in 8th and won in extra innings. we were down a ton

Dang. That's like being up 28-3 in the Super Bowl and losing.

Was it in '18, but we were down by 6 runs, B9, nobody on and came back to tie it and send it to extra innings.
Only to lose it in the 10th.
ETA: this was regular season vs OM. Just an amazing comeback but all for nought.

I seem to remember that game but the one I am referencing I will never forget. Listened to on the radio and it was a sunday game. I want to say Pat Garrity had a huge double to either win or tie game. It was one of the best comebacks we have ever had though...of course the Ga. Tech game in regionals when we scored 17 runs and had about 6-7 doubles in one inning was better...i think Warren Morris got out twice in that inning

We no hit Arkansas through the 6th and lost 7-0 that is as close as I can remember.

Tigergreg posted the following a while back on TD, but it was in the 1996 BR Regional:
Who could ever forget this?
"The Game": LSU 29, Georgia Tech 13
LSU (48-15) set five NCAA Tournament records with an 18-run seventh inning and advanced to the College World Series with a 29-13 rout of Georgia Tech.
NCAA record: doubles in inning (8)
Tied NCAA record: consecutive batters reaching base in an inning (17)
Tied NCAA record: hits in an inning (13)
NCAA Tournament record: runs in one inning (18)
NCAA Tournament record: total bases (27)
NCAA Tournament record: plate appearances (22)
NCAA Tournament record: RBIs (17)
NCAA Tournament record: at-bats (16)
NCAA Tournament record: combined runs (42)
This gets me more fired up!

yeh that was awesome. I was driving to my camp and that half inning lasted half the trip

It’s crazy but the past two nights I’ve turned the games on in the 7th and 8th inning respectively, and got to watch both SEC teams win with late inning shenanigans. I feel like I’m some kind of SEC lucky charm right now
