Seriously, go read the university's list of officially accepted names.
the formal and offical name is University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The secondary name is UL Lafayette.
See a trend here? There is no University of Louisiana, get over it. You're not fooling anyone by trying to call yourself that.

Sorry, we've decided to.go with the other UL, price is not as steep in Monroe. They tell us that if we take their UL, we are getting the "flagship" version....sounds cool, so we're gonna go with their offer. K, thanks.

ULL fans want to be the state school so bad they will do anything, including changing thier name.

Also, you don't seem to understand that we are nationally recognized as LSU. Nobody recognizes you as UL except yourselves. Feel free to call us LSU A&M all you want, all it does is remind everyone that you are still little brother.

One of your friends came on our board and started shooting off at the mouth the day before LSU played UL in baseball. Then when we won he had nothing else to say.
My intention with this thread was to bring up the point that we have 2 really good teams in Louisiana that had great wins last night.

Maybe that's what they officially use, but when I see UL I think of them and I'm sure many others do as well.
This leaves you open to the argument that many people have already pointed out that the acceptable names for your school is University of Louisiana at Lafayette or University of Louisiana-Lafayette. No UL there at all.
