Not to downplay that game...but 1997 is a year UF went through changes after Wuerffel left...we werent very good...we did manage two great games that year: kept Peyton winless vs Gators and beat the girls school (fsu) at end of the year when they were ranked # 1 in a battle for the ages.
We lost to UGA that year also.

This game is also my favorite memory from Tiger Stadium. We sat in the fraternity section and my boyfriend (now husband) wouldn't let me rush the field because he thought I would get hurt :(. He went down and got the grass from the field for me. I still have our party cups with the alcohol and colored field grass still in the bottom of the cups! That was the loudest I ever heard Tiger Stadium...ever. Hope it is as great a game this Saturday. Geaux Tigers!

just want to say I was there in the student section too! I think I still have some grass from the field and my signed copy of the Faulk on the SI!!!!

I still have the party cups my date made me for that game. Inside the party cups is grass from the field.

I sat in the UF players parents section in upper W deck. We were all in shock. My sister (adult/parent) cried on the way home.
It was a great game and glad I went. I've seen some great games between UF and LSU.

I remember seeing some dude that had the bright idea to go into the student section with a UF shirt on before the game - got pelted with all sorts of stuff and hightailed it out of there in a hurry.
