RIP to the college football that I fell in love with. They should have never done a playoff system and should have stuck with the BCS.

Can't agree, it removes a high percentage of the politics involved. Separates the pretenders and the contenders.

The 8 team playoff just makes the most sense. It would keep the conference championships relevant and allow all power five champs in with 3 at large bids.

12 teams is too much. At the end of the season there’s a huge difference between teams ranked 1 & 2 and 11 & 12.
They’ll usually get mauled but all it takes is a freak injury to a key player to change a game. And that’s the risk of adding more and more games.
They’ll really need to reduce the regular season but they probably won’t.

SEC will dominate this format
I agree. The extra wear and tear from additional games will expose teams that lack depth in the trenches. Teams like Cincinnati, North Carolina, Penn State, Utah, etc might have a competitive team when healthy, but won’t be able to sustain injuries the way SEC schools with elite recruiting will.

Home field advantage will be huge for the big 10 in December but at least we get the opportunity to visit some new college campuses more frequently.
The top 4 teams will miss out on a lot of revenue from not getting to host a playoff game so really they should allow two rounds on home campuses

This has 0 to do with enhancing the CFB experience and everything to do with greed.

They need to have automatic bids for the power 5 conference champs then the rest at large

I'm perfectly fine by this. NCAA is aligning to a few mega conferences anyway and some will disappear. It was expanded to 12. That's more than enough to supplement any gauntlet for an SEC team who has the hardest SOS in the country. SEC will still draw favor here as the SOS will slip several teams into the top 12. You should reward a team for winning their conference and it also prevents teams like Georgia who have guaranteed bids to sleepwalk through title games. It's just overall better for the sport and more competitive.
