you had a problem with our offense this year?
Yes, we were terrible situationally. Some of you are enamored by empty stats. I don't get it.

Why didn't this happen this year?
E and Linehan ran what they wanted to out of Brady’s offense and the same basic playbook. They just weren’t as good at it.

Free reign, as long as you run this other guy's offense. I know I know, GOAT offense, just sounds weird.
Maybe if it was an established OC who didn’t just come here from working under the same guy who installed that offense here.

I never saw some of the bunch plays in 2020 that were so successful in 2019, especially in the red zone. Either they couldn’t teach it or got away from it.

They ran them a few times this season, just not very often for whatever reason. There were far fewer throws to the backs. The execution on screens was terrible and they kept calling them when the opponents didn’t blitz. We also didn’t run as much 5 wide, especially after Myles went down.
Again- same offense and playbook. They just didn’t gameplan or sequence plays close to the same way.

O knows his job is on the line next season. He’s trying to cover his butt and will roll anyone under the bus from last year to put the blame on them

why did LSU go away from it?
personnel bro. Contrary to popular opinion, they didn't just accidentally lose the playbook.

Did O say this offense is already better than last years?
Posted on 1/12/21 at 9:23 am to TrueTigerTale
Just shut up O and produce.
We aren't you're players. We don't need your ra ra crap. No one will ever believe anything you say about the team b/c you're full of shite "this defense is ahead of last years defense".
Just win games. No one gives a shite how you do it. Just win.

We had 2 true freshmen qbs and mostly new wrs...the offense was very good considering

It isn’t that simple. E and Linehan weren’t capable of generating the same mismatches on the field through creative playcalling that Brady was. We didn’t take full advantage of the strengths we had because they just aren’t on that level. I love E as a Tiger and appreciate what he did here, but it’s the truth.

Why are people acting like the offense was bad in 2020? The offense was very good, especially when Myles Brennan was playing and after Max Johnson got comfortable. I would say the only issues on offense were injuries at QB and the opt outs of Chase/Marshall/Gilbert. The playcalling was fine.
The offense was good enough to win every game except Auburn and Texas A&M and that's just because the wrong QB was playing. The defense was the reason we lost 5 games...

But it was still held back by mediocre playcalling and offensive scheming. It could have been better than it was in more capable hands.

When you have 2 true fresh qbs and a oline that was mediocre at best it limits a team offensively...people do not get it.

O too often paints himself in a corner, the confusing part is it’s easily avoidable on his part.

This is your opinion. It doesn't make you right. In fact you could be right but none of us know what our qbs were capable of, what our wrs were capable of, etc. Good coaches will run plays that the players can execute. That is why offenses are generally limited with young players.

The huge offensive line is key to be able to do that play action by giving the qb time to throw downfield or those crossing routes to progress.
Jones hardly had any pressure all season. We will see how he adjusts in the NFL.

I thought Ensminger was the mastermind behind 2019, was this not true?
I don't think anyone ever said that. The question was "who was calling the plays?" and that answer probably comes with an "*".

Apparently his opinion has been changed dramatically, Orgeron noted this morning LSU will run multiple defenses because of today’s offenses. Not smart to rely on one
Sadly, he should have known this. I wouldn't consider myself "schematically savvy" as far as x's and o's and I knew this.
