The improvement in this team during this season is amazing. I had very low expectations after the quality of play in our two losses. Glad I was dead wrong.

The players and the coaching staff should be heartily commended for the direction the team is going in now. There's still work to be done but it is clear they have righted the ship.

Yes. It would be impossible to make it any more obvious. But still, there are always a few wound WAY too tight. Of course in fairness, our worst Rantards may actually be that bad.

Sorry, but every time LSU loses a football game, people are going to call for the coach's head. That'll never change.

Les deserves a lot of credit...as a football coach and more importantly, as a man.

...As a coach: The way this young LSU team has improved as the season progresses, in this tough SEC West division, can only be attributed to great, I'll say it again, G-R-E-A-T coaching. If we as fans call out CLM and blame only him when things go wrong, it's only fair that he gets the credit when things go right. And what coach that's ever lived hasn't had things go wrong.

...As a man: I was so impressed with the way Les carried himself in the wake of losing his mom. The way he spoke of his players and his mom after he game caused me to have even more respect for him. He is a great example and role model of how to be a father to young men. Something that is sorely lacking in today's society.

I had a friend sitting near OBJs family at an away game (don't remember which). Someone else in that section kept ranting and screaming at Miles' during the game and saying he wanted Saban back. OBJs dad stood up and put that fan in his place about Les and said "Had Saban been the coach here, my son would NOT be here".

Yep, relationships ... and for the record, I love Les.

What many of us have taken a while to figure out

I was somewhat under impressed with the hire in 05, but by the end of that season I was solidly in the Miles camp. 08 had some warning flags waving, but that calmed down pretty fast. 102-26 playing the type schedules we face is pretty amazing in my book.

The best thing bout the guy for me is that he wins with class and without the jerk BS a lot of big winners have with them. The man really seems to enjoy coaching and doesn't act as if his BMs don't smell.

Actually no. I've seen them debate this here. Its amazing to read their post

Truth. Most of them simply hate him and have deluded themselves into believing that better coaches are beating down the door.

But every once in a while some asshat will try to make the argument that he's not LSU's best coach ever. It's so ridiculous that its painful.

Yep. I will eat crow.

No crow eating is necessary. No one is expected to understand his brand of genius, given the numerous reasons he consistently gives to frustrate fans. What this post is about is giving you an out, as he has THE MOST UNIQUE BRAND OF COACHING EVER, so you are not expected to "get it". However, on balance, his genius just plain works, so give it up and accept that he is not going anywhere and he is a legend and he is a winner. No need to love everything about him, just to love the bottom line.

Great coach and proud he is at LSU. I hope he can beat Saban a few more times and win a 2nd national title.

Nah, I'm not sold on him yet. I will have to see him coach a few more years.

I agree but it is still hard to forget the ineptitude of 1/9/12 and performance in NC game.

I don't want him gone. I want him to develop an arse-kicking, imaginative offense that we can count on to score.
