Just wanted to throw out a few thoughts and see what kind of feed back we can give:
#1- Coach O promised to hire the best coordinators, he RETAINS Aranda (give it to him a smart move) who is a Les hire and hires Canada and fires him after 1 year to replace him with Ensminger. So he has not hired a top notch coordinator yet.
#2- Ensminger has not been a OC for 20 years and one of his last OC job the offense was ranked over a 100, lasted one year, he was replaced after 1 year and Auburns offense jumped up to 70 with the same personnel that Ensminger had. So does this make him a top notch hire !
#3- Lastly and IMPORTANT, Ensminger is claimed to be a GREAT quarterbacks coach and QB developer. He has been at LSU for at least 7-8 years on the offensive side, what kind of development have we seen and why are we not getting the top QB recruits to come and want to learn under him. Don't use the excuse he was TE coach, he was on the offensive coaching staff.
#4- Looks like we are leaning towards hiring a 70 plus year old wide receiver coach, Want it be great to see him at practice running around trying to teach the #1 receiver.

Hate to say it people we are going BIG TIME BACKWARDS!!!!!

very concerning. Here's one "Cheeri-O" who can't dispute that.

But I'm a positive guy by nature. Can't help myself. My senior year at LSU was when Stovall was fired and Arnsparger was hired. Had there been a rant in 1984 no telling what would have happened.A 59 year old head coach who bombed in his one time as a head coach?? His hiring was not well-received.

I'm hopeful,but not too optimistic.

Canada's offense was kind of shite for us. its not backwards. We're losing a lot of talent though.

We can't assume we will be terrible just because of a hire. That is dumb!! Look coach O did his job last year when he hired 2 of the best coordinators in the country. While no one is positive what went on between coach O and Canada we do know it didn't work well so it was terminated. Now coach O has gone a different direction with the hiring of the new OC which a lot of fans disagree with but at least lets wait to see the product before we make judgment. Coach O knows his job is depending on this hire and if he thinks Ensminger is the guy then he has a ton of confidence in him. If this doesn't work out then both of them will be terminated. It's not the end of the world. I actually think we will surprise some folks on offense and go to a pass first offense to open up the run this year. I predict we go 9-3!

Tired of 9-3...10-2 or 11-1 is what we need to move forward.

Tiger nutz I'm curios what 2 hires, Canada was one who was the other? Aranda was on staff and if I was a betting man he was probably told by Alleva he was retaining him as DC. I think most will agree Canada was a GOOD hire not a Great hire. If he was one of the best OC in the country there would have been several teams after him last year.

BDJ no problem, some times I wish this board could have more sensible and realistic rants among Tiger fans.

Is the TE coach discussion really an excuse? If he is a QB guru why have two LSU head coaches decided that it was better to use him as a TE coach? For that matter, he was last a full time QB coach in 2003. Why has his talent been misused by so many for so long?

He may turn out to be great. I really hope he does. This year was a very soft schedule --- by far the easiest in the past 6 years --- and we struggled. Next year is a murder's row. We play 3 teams (Miami, UGA and UA) that figure to be ranked in the top 10 if not the top 5 to start the season, two top 20 teams (UF and AU) and two teams that easily could be ranked in the top 25 at the beginning of the season or at some point shortly thereafter (A&M & Moo State). If he is not great it could be a long season.

After watching the press conference, I have nothing against Ensminger but don't think we will be able to beat Bama & Georgia. We need a young mind, creative OC to compete with our schedule.
