He actually responded to me in another thread when I said the same thing about the recruiting rankings by saying ...
quote:

No one said they don't know what they are doing. People have pointed out that recruiting rankings are not an exact science and have given factual examples to prove the statement.

I responded with 6 examples just by him in his own thread. Of course, I never got a response.

That’s not a good season

9-4 when you play 6 teams with winning records is not a good season.

But the real metric now is apparently that we weren't shitty. Yay!!!

He was 9-4 in his only season at LSU. That doesn't exactly scream "shite coach".

But hey, if you need to go back over a decade in history in order to get your term to fit your narrative, go for it.

9-4 isn’t terrible but it doesn’t make me completely forget about how abysmal he was at Ole Miss. Sorry. Especially not when he is repeating some of the same critical mistakes he made at Ole Miss.

But, again, this is the year where he can prove me wrong. This has to be the year we are going to take a step forward in the direction of being a championship program again. No more excuses. Let’s go get it

According to you recruiting rankings don’t matter anyways. I have no idea why you’re celebrating.

Hypocrite

Where have I said anything about rankings?

If you look at who offered him and realize he could literally have signed with ANY TEAM in the nation, that is more than good enough for me.

I was just as excited about the "so-called" three star last week that also has a "who's who" of teams offering him a scholarship. His decision came between Alabama and LSU.

Marcus Banks - 3-star according to 24/7.
Offer list according to 24/7:

LSU
Texas A&M
Alabama
Arkansas
Auburn
Baylor
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
Michigan
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Oregon State
Stanford
TCU
Tennessee
Texas

Good try with the "hypocrite" name calling though. Hilariously funny, but when it is all you have to go on, why not give it a go, right? Thanks for the laugh !!!!

It's basically the floor at LSU. But if he improves on that with this schedule I'm not sure anyone really has a complaint.

Ree, in your own thread about O's interview the other night you constantly put down the so called "experts". I can link you to me response where I listed them or quote them here if you would like. But, you absolutely shite on the "experts".

Should be a lot of fun. I'm more optimistic than ever since Ree has made it clear this team will win at least 10 regular season games

I’m absolutely optimistic for this season. Good moves were made and they should most definitely pay off with a 10+ win regular season this year.

There are at least 4 teams just as talented on the schedule. However the positions of need have been upgraded and it's up to the staff to put them together.

I totally agree. I'm very optimistic with Burrow running the offense. With Ree pracfically guaranteeing 10 plus wins, I can't wait for kickoff

I'm not sure why you wasted your time typing this. Just show me one time in this thread where I have said or even insinuated anything different from what was said the other day.

If you believe Greedy was the 219th best overall recruit in the 2016 class, that DJ Chark was really the 315th player in the 2014 class or Malachi Dupree was the 17th best player in the 2014 class, go for it.

I believe they are wrong just as much as they are right and think they are wrong much more than they are right. Foster Moreau wasn't even ranked nationally and was the 74th rated player at his position - I have seen him being graded at a 3rd round draft pick the last few days.

Cam says you said that rankings don't matter. You responded with ...
quote:

Where have I said anything about rankings?

The other night, I believe it was Monday in your O interview thread alone, you said ...
quote:

quote:
But hey, you and the experts know a lot more than the college football staffs that recruit the players for their teams. The staffs are just throwing shite against the wall with no vision at all and hoping something sticks.

quote:
Do you think all of the schools offering him think or care if he is rated as a 3-star by the "EXPERTS"?

quote:
Would that possibly change LSU's 2016 "expert" ranking?

quote:
your beef is with the "experts" and not me stating what the "experts" have done.

quote:
It is on 24-7 for everyone to see how GREAT the "experts" are at rating players which in turn rates classes.

quote:
But just an example of the experts and their GREAT and VAST knowledge.

This guy was the 16th best LSU signee in the 2016 class. The 219th player nationally, the 20th best at his position and the 14th best in the state. Are ALL of the players ranked ahead of him going to be drafted higher in the NFL? Will he the be the 220th player taken next year?

Constantly talking down about the "experts".

So in your first sentence you say they are wrong 50% of the time. Then in your next sentence you say they are wrong more than 50% of the time. Which is it?

And you can't really be this ignorant can you? I would say they are correct WAY more than they are incorrect.

Then, they are ranking players based on talent levels. They have no way of knowing which of those players will get to college and get in trouble, not want to put in the work to succeed on the field or in the classroom. How do you expect them to predict that?

Because it's constantly used when trying to prove the rankings mess up in order to refute low LSU recruiting rankings.

Eta: Let me clarify. IF there is a low ranking on class or player.

Well, Greedy was a very skinny 4 star with a monster offer sheet. We were pretty excited to see him come here instead of A&M
