It's not that they are criticizing the pickup. It is all the deflection that is going on. Multiple posts arguing over the last signing class' true worth, still ranked 10th with this class, whether there are more 3 and 2-stars than 4 and 5-stars, etc, etc, etc.
Some people either can't stand good news for LSU or for LSU fans to be happy about good news for LSU, I don't know which it is. But, if you don't think it happens all you need to do is read the first 3 pages of this thread.

Great pickup!!
This strengthens our foothold on the #10 spot in the rankings. Hopefully after all the dust settles we can land another top 15 class. Back to back top 15 classes will help us close that gap between us and bama

This is a good indicator that O's pitch about building a championship team instead of joining one is really getting through to the Louisiana recruits. Take pride in being from Louisiana, play for Louisiana and win a championship for Louisiana.

What? I trust Eaux's evaluations!! I don't need the "experts" telling me how good our class is! If we can land top 15-20 classes, based on Eaux's evaluation skills alone I'd say they are really top 5 classes

As mentioned above he is just trying to deflect. It is what you do when you can't stand good news for the LSU program.
I wish him luck on his deflecting efforts but I am afraid all the people with more than a few brain cells know there is no way to temper this news.
They know that this is only the beginning and more big recruits declaring for the LSU Tigers is inevitable.

With bush and Starks LSU will be top 5 regardless of who gets who
Also a lot of predictions have been coming in for CB Joey Porter Jr. to LSU, 4 star, he decides this summer also

Hurts our average, but not our rank at the moment.
Technically it will hurt our rank in the end because we can only take 25 and they are taking spots for potentially higher rated players.
It adds up all the player ratings. Those 2 guys are worth like 5 points. We go from 10 to 13 without them lol.
ETA:
I am in no way saying I don't want that kicker though. He's going to win us quite a few games. Very good punter as well.

Well, some of those are clearly trolling. Also, many are directly responding to the "Boom, no room for criticism now, O has proven he's the best" type of posts. Just as one "bad action" shouldn't define a coach's tenure, one "good action" shouldn't either. I do agree that O deserves credit for this pick up, however, and there's nothing wrong with celebrating it.
