1 Decision that could immediately help the QB debacle...

Can we please have a real, live, talking, QB "coach" on the sideline, be it Cameron or someone else.
To continue to operate the same way and expect significant improvement from either of our 2 options next season is insanity.

That could possibly help. But it's not going to happen.

Coach these players up all you want.
At some point it's the guy with the ball in his hands responsibility to make a fricking play.

Why do people like you want to always blame the players when it's the coaches fault and even if it was the players fault it would still be the coaches fault for recruiting incapable 4 stars, LOL

This talking point cracks me up. In 2013, Cam was in the booth, and it didn't matter. We've had Billy Gonzales on the field as passing game coordinator; it made no difference. We've had Mallory in the booth and BDP on the field and the defense was terrible. Location of the staff doesn't matter. It just doesn't. Having good coaches and good players does. Having good players with experience is even better. Having good players with experience that can get you in the right plays, don't turn the wrong way twice a game, and fumble at least one snap a game is even better. Looking at you, Harris. Step your game up.

quote:Former LSU QB Ensminger could do that. Let Tony Ball handle WR's and TE's since they do the exact same things. (Run routes, catch passes, block) Why do we need a dedicated TE coach? Ensminger can handle QB's on the sidelines.....

Exactly...
Most OCs like to be in the booth because they get the birds eye view and can see how the coverage opens up, tendencies, shifts, etc.
And Cam is with those kids all the time... Practice, film sessions, etc. Being on the field isn't going to make a difference IMO. He's with them all week long anyways. Cam being on the field isn't going to make the QBs make better throws, decisions, or play better.
And he talks to them on the headset anyways... What's the difference in that and if he's standing there? Still saying the same stuff.
People make this way too big a deal than it should. And it's because everyone is looking at the QB situation under a microscope and paying attention to every little detail and try to find an answer to the issues... I'll tell you the answer. Jennings is just not good and Harris wasn't ready as a true freshman. That was the problem.

Georgia gets pretty good quarterback play, wouldn't you say? Guess where Mike Bobo sat. I'll give you one guess.
Guess where Richt called plays at FSU. Location doesn't matter. Downvote all you want.

Every other position seems to perform and be ok.
Our QB's need to step up and make plays...pretty simple.

Holy shite.....brah!
I'd call administration ASAP and offer up this insight for at least $500k. Think about it! If they would've implemented this prior, that'd equate to at least 1 natty and maybe a couple of high end bowl victories. With merchandising, that has to he at least $100 million in value.
Dude, $500k for a $100 million return....Buffet is drooling as I type this.

ahh, the ole definition of insanity pops up once again. and used as a proof statement of why our qb's performance was below par.

Let Harris play?

Just recruit the right QBs. AJ is a dud. That's fine. Let BH play. If he's a dud after this year let Felipe play. You have to recruit the right personal.

You think Franks could do any better as a true freshman?
Good lord.

Dude, Get Real. It is a matter of calling the play and then the players execute the play. If some one turns the wrong way or a block is missed, or the QB can't find a 2nd or 3rd receiver, or the QB holds on to he ball so long a sack results is not related in any fashion to a coach being on the sideline or in the booth.
And guess what else???? Coaches don't call plays that have not been practiced, discussed and are not residing in the current week playbook. They call game-plan plays that the players, all 11, must execute properly. It's just the QB has more responsibility and must be a leader. If not, move him out

They'll have BeBe on the sideline firing ALL the players up.

We have young QBs who are obviously uncomfortable on the big stage. To think that having a coach encouraging and instructing them one on one would be of no benefit is ludicrous. You can't tell me Kiffin being on Bama's sideline wasn't helpful to Blake Sims.
Cam on the field during the game won't perfect QB performance, but I think it would improve it.

According to Cam, Frank Wilson is his on the sideline mouthpiece during games.
The issues our QBs had last year were way deeper than lack of in-game coaching.
Cam has admitted on the record that he didn't do enough in practice and through game-planning to help our young QBs succeed last year. Hopefully that translates into fixing those issues this Spring and next Fall.
