Leavitt is wayyyy over his head, on this team

Top Ten opponent that retunes most of a SemiFinal team, revenge game of all revenge game, they have the best qb in tbd country…
And we lost by a few yards.
We are not as down as you think.

The Clemson game skewed it for all of us. This is a team that needs time to gel and will continue to improve each game. I’m still excited about the year.

We’re still a top 12 team imo. We were 1 play away from potentially tying the game, despite all the dumb shite

I don’t know what game you watched, but this team on both sides of the ball was slapped around in the first half. That ole miss defense gave up 400+ yards to Charlotte let that sink in for a minute and get back to me.

This. Do we even have a downfield passing threat anymore, now that Green and Wright are done?

They only scored once the rest of the game, football is 4 quarters not two.

And the second half?

LSU lost because the oline is soft and the dline is not that good. You can’t fix that in a week or even a season.
Blake Baker played soft coverage the entire 1st half and was shredded switched up in the 3rd which worked it got Chambliss off his spot repeatedly then went back to soft zone coverage to lose the game, why?
And if Leavitt doesn’t make a few miracle runs in second half this score is even worse and I do mean miracle runs! Leavitt has no down field vision none!
This is the same team as last year

You keep judging just the 1st half when they only scored once since.
They had receivers open, that qb couldn’t hit them that was the difference.

I must’ve been living in a dream world because I thought there are 2 halfs to a football game? Did they play a 2nd half last night? Did our offense look just as bad in that 2nd half? I seem to remember us scoring 17 unanswered points AND getting all the way down to the 4 yard line on our last possession. Did that not happen? Yeah Ole Miss played really good defense for about 1.5 quarters. From our last drive in the 2nd quarter until the end, we gained 301 yards in 7 possessions and one of those possessions was the last play of the first half! Man, some of yall need to chill out and either stop watching LSU or take a relaxing bath!

Agreed 100%. That game has shown our weaknesses for sure. We got man handled in the trenches and also showed a QB, even when he had time, who couldn’t make the throws. This is an 8-4 or 7-5 team with this schedule. Which to me there is no excuse for that because rebuilding years don’t exist in the day and age of NIL.

My thoughts, exactly. The problems this team has will rear their head each game. They aren’t things that can be fixed in the season. Now, you’ve lost your best weapon on offense. Pair these issues with the current state of the QB room and it only adds to the degree of difficulty. Doest’t bode well for the rest of the season.

That offense looked like dog shite minus a few plays most of it was broken runs by Leavitt jesus christ I hope some of you recorder this game so you can go back and watch it.

Not concerned. It's still early, both for the Kiffin era and for this team.
LSU will keep improving, throughout this season and over subsequent years. This was the year for Ole Miss to take advantage and get the big win. They were returning a bunch of good players from a semi-finalist team, they were playing against a transitioning LSU team, and had the comfort of playing in front of their home crowd. The dynamic shifts completely next year as Kiffin settles in and the realization kicks in that Golding is in over his head.

Is Wright done for the season ?

The worst part for me(worse than Leavitt) was the Defensive scheme from blake baker. Horrible arse coaching. You put DJ Pickett, Cooley, and Ty Benefild in a Soft-arse zone playing outfield for the baseball team.
The ball is flying around, players are flying around, and you've got your best defenders playing center field just standing back there barely moving, and then expect them to all rhe sudden match the speed of the game and make a play. So retarded
