So is Dillon Jones a slower Joe Addai?

Joe Addai was a tough, balanced, 4.39 first down machine. Never known for breaking the long TD run. Usually scored in the red zone.

Every time I see Dillon Jones running through tacklers for the extra 3-4 yards to get a yard or two beyond the first down marker.

Is Jones’ speed the reason he’s already decided to return to LSU next season?

I don’t think he’s slow at all. He might not have elite initial burst but I think his top end speed is more than good enough

SEC starters make more money than NFL lower round players. That's why they stay in college.

He sure doesn’t seem slow on tv, but the announcers (who may not know jack shite) mentioned he’s not a break away threat earlier in the game. I’m assuming they said that based off research or interviews from inside the facility.

It's literally the only knock on his game. He had two longer runs earlier in the season that Berry would have housed.

However now that I have seen more of him and Leavitt is getting his passing in form, he is perfect for this offense. He is as complete of a RB as I have seen since Bijan Robinson.

He’s not slow, but he does take a while to get to full speed

I do wonder how much the RPOs and guard play hamper him at times. He usually has to wait for Leavitt to make the read/handoff and then usually has Satherwaitte in his lap.

Joe Addai was top 3 of my all-time favorite players at LSU, so I am probably biased, but he and Jones are decent comparisons. Addai ran straight up like he wanted to SEE you get run frick over. Jones is similar. Doesn't run as angry but is smoother.

LSU running back Dilin Jones (frequently misspelled as Dillon/Dillion) has an official scouted 40-yard dash time of 4.52 seconds. His verified high-and-low range spans between 4.45 and 4.57 seconds.

Not that much slower

I said this before but he needs that top end bump in speed that CEH got between the end of the 2018 season and the start of the 2019 season.

He’s Charles Scott mixed with Alfred Blue and a dash of Barrington Edwards
