Kiffin and Baker are outstanding

Both sides of the ball had units ready to play. The players they put out there were selected perfectly. There were no sloppy false starts or offsides penalties. The players clearly knew the plan and performed as they coached. They rewarded as many guys as possible with playing time and opportunities to make plays. Lane even cleaned up the special teams in game one!!

I was not excited about Kiffin coming but that was impressive. Not since the Saban days has the entire team performed they way they did tonight, other than the 2019 offense when Burrow held his unit accountable. Lane makes LSU a topic of conversation, even if the talk is oppositional. That will help with recruiting and player engagement because any publicity is good publicity.

I expected the team to lack focus but they were dang near to mid season form. Having Weeks and Dottery leading and Baker coaching was probably what made the defense come together so quicky. The passing game can improve but that seems assured with Kiffin being an offensive specialist. The inept OLine play was also nonexistent.

That was pleasantly surprising and has me ready to see this team on the field again.
