He could go the Masoli route and head off to grad school somewhere and not sit out.

That's only if LSU doesn't have a grad school for his major. His major is education, BTW.

Good information, nice to see facts and not speculation.

We are taking Mettenberger as well as one of the following:

Cardale
Brissett
Marquise Williams
Teddy (Avery is trying to pull him over)

I thought he could choose any type of grad school major that isn't offered there. Isn't that why masoli is now a Parks and recreation major or something like that?

Hm, I don't know. I'm sure there's a bit of a gray area to the rule; and, I assume Masoli exploited it. Hence, he was allowed to transfer after appealing the NCAA's initial decision.

Why are yall so sure that Mettenberger would come in and beat out Jefferson and Lee?

Hve you seen our offense, it's rankings, or our inability to complete a curl route? Met's backup in high school could come here and get over 100 yds passing in one of three straight weeks

It will depend on how Lee does when he gets the chance. Imo with this running game and if the proper use of sheppard as a runner, receiver and a decoy, he could light the passing game up and we will have our qb for next year. If you look beyond the pic 6's, he had some pretty good games. Brought us back in the auburn game after a pic 6 and in the troy game he was amazing. no way jj wins that game.

What happened to being able to transfer down to an fcs school without having to sit out a year? The way RP did with jsu.

He can come here and start right away (though let's not argue about that here). He went through JUCO so that counts as his year out.

He got drunk a felt up a girl. Happens every night in the White House or Gov. Mansion....

Seriously, talked to a buddy who as at the UGA spring game and he said ZM was clearly a better QB than Murray. Said he was hitting 30-40 yds downfield on a rope.

Because we've seen them both play and if Mettenberger is even a half-way decent H.S. QB, he should be able to beat them out EASILY.

desperate times call for desperate measures.

aka all of our clean program mindset goes out the window when we need a winning qb.

You can have a clean program and sign a repentant man.

He was a drunk freshman at a bar and grabbed some arse and titties on the dance floor. I know I am guilty of the same.

I don't know how else I can say it guys. I've said it three different occasions. Well, I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach. I think I've said this over and over and over again.

false. the NCAA does not dictate what post graduate degree a student athlete must pursue. It just has to be a degree not offered by LSU.

Not sure about Jefferson and Lee (isn't that a college... ) but he will be at a huge advantage over any other frosh signed into a program. He should be ready to play soon after stepping on campus.

If a player wants to transfer to a new D-1 school and play immediately, he has to graduate in 4 years and go to grad school for a program that is not offered at the original school.

Some people like Greg Paulus actually move to new schools and take classes in fields they may enter one day (broadcasting). Others just enter some bullshite program to exploit the rule (Masoli becoming the next Tom Haverford).

If Lee wants to transfer to a D-1 school, I am sure he can find some obscure master's program. Or he could always go to a FCS school in LA or TX.
