Houston to BR is half the drive of Houston to Norman.
I see Evans in the SEC.

Did you mean the OU insider said he thinks we lead or were you questioning that as well?
If that’s what you meant, link?

A lot of OWho fans with some serious LSU-red arse in there.
2003 doesn’t seem that long ago.
The hate they have for Dave Aranda and CEO taking Jacob Phillips from them is the best. They can’t wrap their head around why a LB with zero OU ties would choose a school like LSU.
Would love to see them in the CFP.

The kid isn’t looking for a cake walk to playing time. He want to be competing against other top backs. He want guys that’s going to help elevate his game every week. So, don’t be surprise if he does end up at LSU! He said he love to compete against top backs.

OU already have a 5 star back committed if I’m not mistaken. So, I honestly don’t see Milton or Evans at OU. I see them both at an SEC school because that conference is like playing in the NFL to high school kids.

If you ask them they may tell you that lately the Cajun Mafia has been raising antes. Bama and their fans seem to be obsessed with our bidding. Wade and now O are the cheaters of all cheaters in their minds as of late.

Lately Texas recruiting has fallen off. Look at 2020 class news and not last two years. They are losing ground right now with some in state players who are favoring other teams like...well us, tOSU, Okie, Bama etc. Herman has a good offensive mind but who culturally would not mesh well in BR. He is a hand in glove in Austin where he belongs apparently.

Texas is likely getting 5-10 more commits over the next two months; Ja'Quinden Jackson, Chris Thompson, Jahari Rogers, Kitan Crawford, Chad Lindberg, and Vernon Broughton are all Texas leans that might commit over the summer, and Texas also has a good chance of landing Bryson Washington and Bijan Robinson after their OVs next month. Dorbah is also a Texas lean, but no one knows when he'll commit.
The class won't be top three or even top five like fans hoped, but will be fine and easily top ten.

Yeah, the Evans quote that's turned into a meme is brutal

I’m not going to discredit the win over UGA, but you can’t just use that and forget about the rest of the season.
Texas lost to Maryland to open the season, for the second time in a row. Texas then beat these teams by 7 points or less (Tulsa, K-State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas).
I’m not saying Texas isn’t on the right path since the Strong era, but a bowl game win has completely overlooked the amount of loss Texas suffered once the clock showed zeros.
Replacing basically an entire front 7 will take some time.

I don't disagree, as I've been posting on Texas boards. Most posters disagree, but a typical fan's memory doesn't last past the most recent game.
There were highs and lows; Texas also beat a playoff Oklahoma team, and should have beaten a very good WVU team.
Regarding the defensive front losses, several of those guys won't be missed, and will likely be upgraded by better younger talent. ILB Wheeler was terrible, DE Hager was mostly a liability except for a handful of good plays a game, and CB Kris Boyd was one of the most mistake prone DBs I've seen.
Will the young replacements be ready by week two? Possibly not, but hopefully Ehlinger and the offense helps carry the load early in the season.

There's a lot of crazy stuff being posted on message boards from Longhorns fans too. I imagine they don't want to burn any bridges with North Shore either especially with LSU already having strong connections there.
Kinda unrelated, where's Preston Stone trending at the moment?

Stone is thought to be basically a Texas lock
Some fans aren't happy about it because he plays against terrible competition because he transferred so he wouldn't have to sit behind Jerry Jones' nephew and Chad Morris' son at Highland Park, and has a helicopter dad from hell

I actually really like Dematrius Davis, although Texas isn't really recruiting him; 43 TDs to 2 INTs as a sophomore in 6A on the way to a state championship (two interceptions in 16 games is absurd). He kind of reminds me of Bryce Young.
Additionally, he and Shadrach Banks will go to the same school.
One of my concerns with Stone is that as a 5* who has already transferred in high school and who has a helicopter dad is that he'll transfer if he's not starting by his second or third year, while I think that's much less of a concern with Davis who will be a lower ranked prospect, but who I think isn't far behind in quality, and who is a better fit for Herman's offense
Posted on 5/30/19 at 9:16 pm to Tehol Hornddict
Yeah that's one of the reasons I asked, Davis seems like a good fit for Herman but it doesn't look like they are recruiting him.
I imagine they will go hard after Jake Garcia who I think is a top 3 QB in the class, looks like he's trending Miami at the moment.

Stone was supposedly a done deal to Texas, and then word recently started coming out that he was seriously considering SMU because his brother plays there, he'd start day one, and they have some other connections there
The Garcia offer came soon after this info started making the rounds, which looked to me like a message being sent to Stone to stop fricking around, and that Stone probably got the message and will end up being an early class commitment with Brockermeyer
