Let me add that Alfano claimed a Texas offer earlier this week. Texas people don’t think that to be true.

Alfano is 22 and was class of 2019 but would still have 4 years of eligibility. I think that’s correct.

Nah
Once you enroll you have 5 years to play 4. But the Covid year doesn’t count. So since he enrolled in 2019 that would leave him with one year of eligibility remaining.
2019 freshman (redshirt)
2020 doesn’t count
2021 freshman
2022 sophomore
2023 junior
2024 senior

He played at 3 different high schools in Jersey. Signed with bama, did nothing. Went to Colorado, did nothing but got suspended once and diagnosed with epilepsy. Went to a CC in Kansas, did nothing. Now he’s at a Juco in Scranton Pa.
We get one season out of him and we think this kid can help us win the sec championship?

My opinion?
With the no limit on signees I think you take him.
He would take the scholarship of a Tygee Hill, Bryce Langston or the like. Not to call out those kids, but they are non contributors and likely never will be.
AGAIN, earlier this week Alfano claimed an offer from Texas. And Texas mods have said they don’t believe that to be true.

Yea he was the top ranked DL out of high school but he’s done nothing in 3-4 years.

There are plenty of instances of players getting more than 5 years. Medical waivers give players extra years all the time. I know he battled epileptic seizures for a while so idk if that would have anything to do with his remaining eligibility
